The path opens out at a wooden style at the top and again, turn either left or right for the main sunbathing/cruising spots in the long grass and bushes. The layby is where Cross Lane meets Wellington Road in Dunston, Gateshead, 2 miles from Newcastle city centre. The layby is only for parking, no sexual activity happens in the actual layby. There's enough room for 10 cars. Alternatively, you can park just around the corner in front of The Fed building on Lancaster Road (60 seconds walk away). Leave the car and walk north along Mandela Way for 60 seconds (away from the Metrocentre but towards Costco). Take that path and you are now on the runway with the woods and bushes stretching as far as the eye can see. At the far end of the runway, there is a wild grassy spot where you could strip off. Anything goes. You can't be seen in the bushes and woods. But as always, be discreet and respectful. The area is rarely used by anyone other than guys looking to fuck. This area is completely wild and overgrown, consequently there is some broken glass, burnt tyres and rubbish. However, the area is safe and growing in popularity now that the Arena has been demolished.
