I'm presuming your accessing the site VIA the Ipad"s browser and would of thought it was just a matter of selecting the pictures from the location they're stored in?
I'm no expert on Apple products, but I'm sure someone here will guide you.
:welcome:

iOS browser (Safari) has disabled the file upload function, and so any other browser will not let you do that, because it's not allowed for iOS devices.

Hi guys, I downloadee and installed this app today.
But I'm unable to sign in, keeps telling me my login details are incorrect,
when they are correct.
Any idea how to remedy this?

Have you checked the capital letters? sometimes the keyboard automatically set the first letter as capital.
I just tried the image upload with both camera and picking up a file.. and both are displayed on my pending list.. does anybody still have that issue? what is the image extension?
I'm testing on Android 2.3.*

Hi,
Since the app is not available at the moment in the Market, We're creating a version with a self-update system, so you can download it from here and further updates will be notified/downloaded in the application itself.

Any progress on this ?
Yes, the application with self-update is now available at:
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/mobile/install.html
Let me know if there's any issues with it.
P.S. Current users of the application, please go to the link and download the new version so you will get a notification about future updates.

Hi Ya,
Thanks my mail seems to have synced up and there is no false red box :-D
Unfortunately I still have 11 'ghost friend requests' and a red box next to the link....
Hope this is seen as helping out with the bugs and not whinging lol
I can live with it, but if you're currently getting it ready to roll out big time then I'd like to think Im being of help :-D

Hi Pam,
Finally we found the source of your issues with the messages. I'll try to send you a test message to see if works fine now.

Hi Ya,
Not sure if I am the only person having this problem with the SH app on Android, but.....
When I read a message through its mailbox it does not register that I have read it on the site.
May sound trival, but when I then read it on the site it still shows up as unread as it cannot sync.
ie. I have no unread messages/requests, but I have the red boxes next to my mailbox and friends links showing a number of unread messages etc...
More an annoyance than anything but as I cant remove it I keep thinking I have mail and requests to read but I haven't.
Hope you can look at this bug as you improve the app smile
Pam xx

Hi, I was looking into the problem and I think it should be fixed now ( I tested it with my account ).
Let me know if you still have the problem.

Any news on the mobile app for Android ?

Hi,
Since the app is not available at the moment in the Market, We're creating a version with a self-update system, so you can download it from here and further updates will be notified/downloaded in the application itself.
I just updated the application to add the Settings' button on the main menu, as I noticed some people don't know how to get there.
Also added support for app2sd (it will install the application on the external storage to save memory on the phone).

Android,
a proximity alert would be fine if/when Events are listed within the mobile App, which they aren't currently.
however I understand Ian's point about users detecting a possible 'cluster' of users at a single location at a given time on a given day/date whilst attending a Private Party, Social or Munch. Therefore would a a proximity alert actually work for mutiple users at the same location ?
(Yes I understand that if/when Events are listed within the mobile App it might be possible to proximity alert the location, afterall a Location/Post Code field is part of Events, however not all Socials or Munchs are listed via Events - please have a word with St3v3 re separate correspondence on this issue)

HnS the location proximity alert will be activated on each device with the application, and then then application can read the specific location (available to attendees only) and set the the limits where the app will stop updating the location. It's easy to detect when the user enters in the area (Desactivate location update) and when they exit (ReActivate location updates if they were enabled).
I'll talk with St3v3 to set the development plan for that feature.

i have enabled it in settings but its still grayed out, i have rebooted and re-enabled to no effect

In the database is still disabled your location updates. Can you try to reinstall the application?

on my lg the map function is grayed out so not able to click on it

Because you have to enable it on the settings

I'll add a message on the next version to make it more clear

Red alert! Stand by for evasive action! Shields up! Phasers to full power! Fire photon torpedoes - full spread!
:giggle:
bolt

hehehe, proximity alert is how it's called in Android when you detect the location from an specific point.. Full information
But if you want I can add a torpedo sound lol

I updated the app at the weekend, and at work today tried to access the map function, just to see what it's like. I wondered how accurate the map would be... If for example 100 people had this function active at a munch, and somebody who was not invited was driving around looking for the venue, would they be able to pin point it dunno
Well it located me to within 50 metres of my location at the time. So, bearing in mind that a munch venue is only notified to those officially on the guest list, it might be worth adding some comment to munch guidelines about attendees turning the option off before travelling there.

Ian,
Good idea, perhaps a note to St3v3 to update Munch Guidelines http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/terminology/munch.html
Plus this is also applicable to the majority of Socials as well, so perhaps something similar needs adding to http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/65788.html
Plus the Munch & Social Guide Guidelines (pdf) http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/assets/Munch_and_Social_Guidelines.pdf needs to be similarly updated ?
I think that it's going to be easier if I set a proximity alert on the application that will turn off the location updates while user is within 20-30 miles from the event location.
What do you think?
Great to hear the app is working good, we had a record of downloads this weekend (around 300 new installations).
There will more updates, but now I'll focus on the app for iPhone/Blackberry.

I would like to know if there's anyone else here who would like to be volunteer in order to test the updates before the come available on the market.

Do we need a larger number of testers ?
I think we have enough testers for the app at the moment...
Hi,
I'm the developer of the Android app. I had a conversation via email with "fishnchips" about some future improvements and testing.
I would like to know if there's anyone else here who would like to be volunteer in order to test the updates before the come available on the market.
