I think the role of the Moderator is hugely important and sometimes as users we take for granted the difficulty in applying control measures in policing such a site as SH. As a new member from only Jan 05, (but been visiting the site for longer) I have read may forum links and threads to find that the majority of time (probably 90%) there intervention in any post has been justified and welcomed, by the originator.
In all walks of life, in our professional lives as well as home lives we all have days were we under perform and later regret items of behavior either in verbal communication or non verbal communication. What I would ask Saxon to is write down a "phrase that he uses often" and then see how many different ways the same phrase can be misconstrued. Take a typical thing like the phrase "I love you"
This can change meaning with: tone, voice, body gesture, and environment!
My point being that it’s very difficult to be firm and correct with only written context with people that you may not have actually ever seen, trying to be un-ambiguous is incredibly difficult. Hence a certain choice of context might not be agreed with by all because we may all read the same thing differently!
