I compose myself, adjust my suit, and start my new pitch enthusiastically, “And now I will demonstrate exactly how I’ll penetrate your…….” Susan interrupts me by raising her hand. “Let me stop you Peter. Penetrate is one of my favourite words. So let me make it crystal clear what I’m looking for from my chosen service provider.”

For the first time, she moves from her seat behind the oak desk and walks around to lean on the front, resting her hips on the edge. I’d previously fixated on her low cut top, one-quarter exposed breasts, plunged neckline and bright red lips, but now I could see her body in all its glory - high heels, fishnet stockings, skirt finishing above the knee. And, of course, the jewellery; most especially, the anklet adorning her left ankle. She sees that it catches my eye and smiles.

“Do you like my anklet, it’s cute isn’t? But do you know what it signifies?”

“Oh yes” I reply “that you have excellent taste in jewellery, especially ‘statement’ jewellery.”

“You’re teasing me now Peter. I think you know full well what it signifies and what I want from you RIGHT NOW.”

At this point I open my briefcase and unzip one of the pockets, to reveal three similar anklets. “I carry them around with me, as I never know when the opportunity might arise to add to my collection. And when I first arrived and was sitting with your young PA outside your office, I caught a glimpse of your anklet through the window blinds. So, I had a strong feeling then that this might be quite a demanding pitch.

So I’m more than ready to give you that spunk from me that you crave. So let’s start……”
