Sorry to be so long in continuing the story. There have been progress, set backs and more progress over the past week.

The plumber and I arranged that he should call by chance when I was out all day. I gave him her phone number and told him to ring her after he’d supposedly rang me. I told him to tell her that he’s spoken to me because he was unexpectedly free and he would call round. She didn’t answer the unknown to her number so he told me. I knew she was at home so I rang her and said that I’d given him her number and he wanted to call round to look at the job in hand. She told me that she wasn’t happy with him calling when I wasn’t there. We left it at that and it seemed that was the end of the fantasy.

After a bit of thought, I arranged for him to come round again when I was there. He came the following day and after studying the job again, all three of us spent the next couple of hours talking about all sorts of things. When he’d gone she said how nice he was and how silly she was by not letting him come earlier. I told her not to worry about it.

In hindsight, I think I probably rushed into things too quickly and hadn’t allowed enough time for her to trust and feel safe in his presence. I think another couple of small visits with me there will do the trick and we then plan for a visit while she is alone.

I’m sorry there is nothing of any excitement to report but hopefully there might be more positive news soon. This is true and is really happening.
