I followed her into the lounge which had changed massively since Val had moved in , she had a log fire on the go and joined me on the sofa with our drinks , and started to tell me about herself and how come she ended up in the village ,giving the impression of being a very open individual . I could imagine her direct approach may upset some people ,but for me it was ideal it saves such a vast amount of time and gets you to the issue immediately , she was equally interested in me and what I got up to , asking if I had a girlfriend seeming surprised when I burst out laughing at the thought of a 68 year old having a girlfriend. I had made her a bacon sandwich and mug of tea as requested ,joining her at the table with more coffee for me ,"did you enjoy last night " she asked ,devouring the sandwich ,I nodded assuring her I enjoyed her company and thought the food was brilliant ,she smiled "good ,I can be a bit much sometimes " I stopped her ,assuring her she was good for me ,but telling her to put more cloths on for the pub at lunch ,or else she'd be mobbed . She linked my arm as we walked down the lane , listening intently as I filled her in with details of the people she would meet including Rose my "buddy" , "I can't wait to meet her ,bet she's got some stories I'll enjoy " , I just told her to behave ," when's Tony arriving anyway , he'll keep you busy " ,she said nothing . Her and Rose seemed to get on like a house on fire , the chatted both very animated ,Rose I think pleased of female conversation , Val in all probability getting all the information to use to wind me up for weeks . At three I joined them and said I was going ,Val said she would accompany me as Tony would be arriving soon , saying goodbye to her new friends she followed me outside .
