5 minute rule

Can I ask why the 5 minute rule exists? Is it a technical issue, and is there any way of getting round it?
Often when trying to create a new room, I get the message "the server is full" and then I cant get in for 5 minutes.
I can understand it, if it's to let someone who's been kicked cool down for 5 mins, but if Im just trying to create a new room, it's a bit of a nuisance wink

Cherry just keep on trying, usually you can get in after a few repeated tries within a minute.

I have deleted the post with the workaround for the 5 minute rule (apologies to the poster).
There is no problem passing that sort of information by PM ,but to post it in the open forum means that those who are booted from a room for a reason, can get straight back in and start annoying everyone else in the room immediately without a break.
we know it's possible, but it's open to abuse when it's in the open forum.

Fair point Mal... although, having said that, only nice people bother to read the forums and they are less likely to be candidates to be kicked cool

I usually go make a cuppa and a have a fag or browse the Forums for 5 minutes by which time I'm allowed back in. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Whoops, sorry Mal - I posted it thinking this information had already been shared in previous posts though I must confess I didn't look as the Search button doesn't like me much.
Happy to pass the information onto individuals by PM if required.....but only to the nice ones tho biggrin

I too have the 5 minute problem lots can u plz send it by pm to me.
I am not a horrrid person who gets booted lots, just a cam fan who crashes a lot.

How do you know if you have been booted? Does your chatroom window become unusable and go to a light blue colour without any curser?

ok rebooted million times.....well 6.. biggrin

system restore to last week ,cookies temp net files cleared....
closest we`ve got to getting in ,is server full please try later message....
would it make a difference if we were xtra members???and could go in thru extras lounge???
how about a free trial for a month?anyone it cures would sign up....???????

ok nearlier ther
got the peeps list ....then the cams list...........
the rooms list finaly came up.....n we greyed out...............
10 cams on the room u trying to join.........
said it b4 ......can we have a no cam login room / lobby....peeps get in ....n go off do there stuff.....
the overflow rooms r a joke.....they always empty...,.direct login to them.......

I have no problems what so ever with getting into chat tonight. And that is with my "non opping" bog standard, normal account.
Oh and all my other accounts can get in chat too.
I would guess the problem could be a pc / internet provider issue?
