Will the discontinuation of support for flash player cause any problems for chat room cams?

I've just removed Flash from my laptop and there is no availabilty to see any cams now.... so yes I guess it will cause major problems unless thee Techies sort a different solution out.

Adobe flash will not be supported after the 31st December. I understand that Adobe will block flash content as of the 12th January. My version of Firefox has automatically disabled it as of today in an update, so unless there is a major change in the way this site uses video, the cams will disappear.

The Mrs works on ad*** ***k (don't want to say it for repercussions) as a cam girl, and it's been a nightmare. No one has been ready with new software to take over, it's not fair on a lot of people (single mother cam girls) who need the work to pay to survive, and it's not fair on the customers who pay to use the service. We spent 6 hours the other night trying to get it to work.... The next day I bought a new laptop for her £500, still having problems. We are lucky in the sense that we can survive without getting paid but other girls can't!

this is a statement direct from Adobe Flash

By providing more than three years’ advance notice, Adobe believes that
there has been sufficient time for developers, designers, businesses and
other parties to migrate Flash content to new standards.  The EOL (end of life )
timing was in co-ordination with some of the major browser vendors.

Yeah, I'm not blaming Adobe at all, it's the reluctance of companies to spend any money developing new software in time which is detrimental to all parties....

Absolutely Johnny - sadly the popularity of SH has steadily declined over the years and I think this may be it's ultimate downfall.

Maybe it's relationship with advertisers has diminished......who knows - I'm in no way an expert in thses things

Such a shame.

Keep safe and keep well

Advertisers?  You’ve never seen an advert on SH.

I don't blame Adobe, they have kept flash on way beyond the time it should have been closed down. It's been a security risk for years. On Linux you have to work really hard to make it work due to the security risks of enabling it. Websites like this really should have migrated everything over to a non-flash format at least a year ago.

On reflection Cubes, I'm sure you're right. While writing, can I just give a huge thanks to everyone involved in SH for giving me such pleasure over many years - Thank you one and all and have a relatively happy and safe Christmas and New Year  -  and good  riddance to 2020 !

That's brilliant to know👍

Thanks for taking the time to investigate 👏

Hi All .  Lots of other sites adult one included have alrady switched over to webRTC cams which by all accounts is working just fantastic . I am also sure it would work here to  so let all ask the site to sort out this problem the site needs to have the cams working for every one .

I've tried Both Firefox and Windows Exploere, wi the same results

Try chrome, also check that your browsers are up to date, Firefox had a bug in the last update but that should be fixed by now. Also check the permissions section make sure they are set to "ask permission" or check that the sites are not blocked.

Hope this helps
