Hi all you irate AOL users!!! lol

This will only apply to those who have Netgear wireless router I think.
Before I post the new settings needed to access the sites....can Admin please tell me on here if I am allowed to post it....there isn't any contact details, just new router settings.
Thanks

Hi,
Yes thats fine, post away.
Thanks,
Elliot.
Hi Elliot
Thanks wink
Workaround for the website issue for Netgear routers
1: Type the router's setup URL ( 0.1) into the Internet Explorer address bar and click Go.
2: Type in admin for the username and password for the password and click ok.
3: Click on Basic settings
4: Type in OpenDNS addresses in Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields.
Please write down your current DNS settings before switching to OpenDNS, in case you want to return to your old settings for any reason.
The addresses for OpenDNS are:
2 (primary)
0 (secondary)
5: Click Apply
6: Test the websites that there was a problem accessing.
This has worked for us....am now in chat and up to now, no problems. When you put in the new settings, give it 5 mins to kick in...if after this time, you are still having problems, power down the router and switch back on after 30 seconds.
Hope this helps some.

Could also be an issue with the MTU setting on your router.
The MTU (Maximum Transfer Unit) defines the largest data packet size you can transmit in one go across a network.
The normal MTU value for most ADSL connections is 1492. AOL uses an MTU of 1450 (trust AOL to be different!!)
Some routers will dynamically change the MTU, with others you may have to manually change the MTU setting.
In a Netgear router you can change this in Advanced --> WAN Setup.
