Hi, and welcome to SH.
The time of day will influence the chatrooms significantly, with evenings, particularly at weekends being the most popular time.
That said however the trouble that you are facing is the common problem that most of us face. Not everyone in the room is actively chatting, many are usually afk (away from keyboard). Others will only talk to people that they themselves are intereted in. But by far the reason why the chatrooms appear so quiet is that many people will only communicate via the whisper facility. This means that no one else see's the chat and the room appears empty/afk/inactive/boring.

Every body on here was NEW at some point and most have done all right,Ive been on here for EVER and some people still chat to me,obviously,it's the ones that don't know me
Most of the regulars will chat to the "newbies" cos they themselves were in the same boat once,so there you go.

Gotta say...when i wandered in there (pool room) for the first time a few weeks ago, i was accepted without any problems. Then again...im a persistent lil fucker :lol: Think ive slotted right in....tough if i haven't....theyre now stuck with me.

Nothing wrong with talking bollocks, *guilty as charged* yer fitted in right nice, the Pool is as diverse as it is friendly (mostly) yesterdays example from Vibrators to Curtains to Dietary requirements, all within 30 mins, Brilliant!
I've found when talking lots of bollocks (guilty as charged again) that you tend to gag a little, particularly those unshaven ones, they stick right on me tonsils.

we've only been on here a couple of months but are regulars in chat and talk to anyone and everyone. I think it's mainly just a case of you get out of it what you put in
Hardly ever do whispers as we're happy to talk in the main room, but if people do whisper they need to say something interesting/original or will likely be ignored.
