Booted/Kicked etc

Hi everybody!
How do I know if I have been booted or kicked. If I happen to be in the same room as a couple who seem to have an objection to me, I always seem to 'lose connection' and my window goes light blue and I can't click on anything. Is this the symptom of being 'kicked' ?

If you have been kicked by a room host, you can click on "join" and go back to the same room - only to be kicked again in some cases.
the fact that you can't click on anything suggests it's a techy issue and I would probably read the Chatroom Forum - see if anyone else has similar probs.
However, if you do feel victimised by another site member then PM a Chatroom Op, giving room name, server and times and they can check the logs to assess the situation.
Thanks for that. But what actually happens when you are kicked?

The screen greys out and you may lose your connection. Or you may get booted into another room.
However, if you are getting the screen drop out and go blank/grey on a regular basis, it may not be because you are being kicked - you may be losing your connection at your own end somewhere.

Thanks for that Redhot! Just clicked on your link! You dirty mare! lol
Anyway..back to the subject! Yes, that's what happens, the screen goes grey/bluey and I can't access anything. It only ever happens when this certain couple are in there. Can I do something to stop them booting me off? This morning all I did was 'enter ' the room, type 'Morning' and the next thing I was stuck/in limbo, unable to click on anything. It played havos with my pc trying as I was trying to close the website down and start again. Well I started up again, entered the same chatroom and within seconds the same hing happened. Now I have played all day since without a hitch, perhaps they have gone to work?

I used to get this problem when I was using a wireless connection. Sometimes the signal strength would get so low that the chat room would assume I'm not "there" anymore and I would be kicked.
The best thing to do would be the following:
Ensure that, if you are using a laptop that there is enough air circulation around it. As stupid as it sounds a built in wireless card in a laptop gets very hot and usually malfunctions (it starts working again when it cools down).
If you are using a desktop with wireless, ensure that the wireless transmitter and the receiever attached to the computer are away from large metallic objects (like radiators) as that can cause problems too.
If the above is not applicable look at your browser. I.E. is renowned for having difficulty with chatroom (especially Java based ones). Try loading SH and the chatroom with Firefox instead.
If that isn't the problem, it could be your service provider. I used to have Wannado (now Orange broadband) and I had no end of problems.
Other than that it could be:
You have other memory hungry programs running in the background (such as Limewire) or MSN messenger (which is a selfish program - it seems to hate other programs running at the same time as it lol )
Hope that helps a bit

Coalman if you feel you may be getting booted by a member, please let one of the chat op's know the details by pm and we can look into it . . . . .
I'd point you in the direction of my pm box over there < < < <
But not entirely sure you'd want this dirty mare dabbling in your privates? :rascal:

I'm wondering which room you are going in to?
If it is one of the permenant "admin owned" rooms, like the jacuzzi, the beach bar etc then I fear you may be having a pc problem.
If however you are going into a "hosted room" you may be having a problem with a room host unfairly kicking you.
A room host MUST warn somebody if they commit an offence (breaking site AUP or chatroom rules) and only then can they kick somebody. There are a small number of misguided members who open "couples only" rooms and then kick single members who have not broken any rules. (Maybe this is what is happening dunno)
If you feel you have been kicked unfairly, please make a note of the name of the room you were in, and the server you were on. Send that info to any of the chatroom op's and we can look into it for you.

We were booted without any warning at all last night . Supposedly because of breaking AUP on drugs . We do not condone their use nor did we in the room . Truth is we believe there are some Ops who can be a little techy when they have a bad day and use their only 'power' to cheer themselves up . Sorry if thats taken badly but thats how it feels when you are booted and it is obvious the person with the button hasnt even read the statement you made .
Positive Flower , she told us so :-)
Please disregard all the previous Naberius statements. The matter has been resolves , thankyou Admin team .
