Now that SH have succesfully solved the uninvited whisper problem, I think its time we moved to get rid of directing in the non directing rooms.
The phrase is neither enforced nor explained in teh T&Cs and the AUP.
I propose that they are change dto both define what directing is and to make it clear that its unacceptable in rooms with No directin in the title.

In respect of the non-permanent i.e. hosted rooms, then I'd suggest that the Room Hosts need to be more aware of their duties, role and responsibility as per Chat T&C = http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/chatroom/user-rules.html,
especially so in opened No Directing rooms where perhaps the 'on entry' message could similarly be repeated.
However perhaps the definition of 'directing' could be better clarified within the Chat T&Cs. I've seen several Chatroom OPS use either
- may I just quickly remind everyone that this is a No Directing room and that directing also includes asking, pleading, begging, suggesting and all variants thereof !!!!
or
- A swinging sites definition of Directing : asking, telling, suggesting, demanding, begging, hinting, and any other words that could influence a persons actions on cam.
so perhaps either of these phrases or an amalgamation of both could be incorporated into the Chat T&Cs.
Agree with Pink_n_Blue that having something in place before the free trial period starts would be very useful

I wonder if it would be possible to change the strapline that comes up on the chat page as you enter to define exactly what is meant by directing (ie one of the ops lines) - lets face it we all know no one actually reads the t&c's/aup before coming in, too eager to get in and see the ladies on cam. This continued "bleating" on that SH does about etiquette etc is really a bit rich don't you think ? what is important surely is that the members get value for their money and are treated fairly .. not constantly presented with the "rules" all the time .. where's the fun in that ?
Obviously doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that you cant whisper or direct a video feed .. and sensibly if the "feed" isn't actually interacting in anyway to the other folk in the chatroom its a bit obvious that they aren't real and of a "con" don't you agree? . It is easy for anyone then to just chat away in the room with a video playing
Case in point recently during the evening there has been "non directing " shouts going put at people when the actually video on cam was in daylight as could be see through the windows.. so yes course you cant direct them as they are in a different time frame !
As you can see am just getting irked by what is clearly a big fall in the membership on here and the ways in which SH is attempting to convince people that there are X number of people in the chat room etc so that people then take out membership .. when in actual fact the chat room in made up of 80 percent blokes ..there is of course the odd couple but they stick to themselves in their own rooms and ok that's fair enough .. so why not take the risk SH and have a cples only portal ? that way all the cples could have a lovely time together couldn't they ?
But as for lone females on cam in real time in the chat room ? I'm beginning to wonder how many there really are .. if any at all

When we cam on SH we usually would pick a No Directing room precisely for the reasons put across by Sara.
If we wished to be directed then we would pick either an ‘open’ room or a ‘directing allowed’ one.
In the case of a non-directing room we would expect anyone in there to abide by the rule of non-directing. On the flipside of the coin we could hardly complain if someone was directing if we were in an open or directing allowed room.
If someone was playing a video feed in any room then it is clearly stated in the Chat T&C’s – “Playing any type of video or displaying photos across your web cam is prohibited.”
Report the profile or advise a Chatroom Op who can investigate.

an a similar note i forgot to add that if i was on cam and got constant unwanted directions, and was putting on a show of any kind i would simply turn off, i find this has 2 normal responses .... the more vocal watchers give the directors grief and they leave the other is the directors get bored of waiting for me to turn the cam back on that they wander off quite quickly.

Think that you will find the "...no whispering rule..." was removed from the Chat T&C = http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/chatroom/user-rules.html many months ago when they brought in the changes to Chat Settings around Whispers.
As for your comment "...will be ignoring the No directing...", then that is your choice, however if in a No Directing room and you do then you'll probably find yourself 'warned' by the Room Host or any visiting Cahtroom OP, and if you persist, then probably 'kicked' from the room and possibly have your profile Reported for further investigation depending on the views of the people in that room.

I take offence at this - you seem to be confusing SH chatrooms with live cam show sites. Women and couples are paying members too, they are not here to give wankers/voyeurs an eyeful so they can knock one off!
This is the kind of attitude that makes directing intolerable - even to those just watching. For the most part directors type in vulgar, sleazy remarks, or demand things that are totally out of context. I cringe when I see the things they come up with (and my husband does, too - so obviously not some ultrafeminist argument there, just plain courtesy). Directors' comments are at best self-centred and selfish, at worse disrespectful and offensive, and overall in really bad taste. It is a shame because there is an interesting dynamic there, and when it works well it can be great. But most often than not... too many clueless people about.

I am not paid to be here Anotherperv (you want value for money to get ya end away go visit one of the pay adult sites where the women get paid to sort you out), nor am i a video feed. I'm here to have my fun, talk to who I wish and show what I wish to show. If you dont like the no directing rule feel free to find one of the many other rooms that dont have that in the title, there are plenty. What you will find though is that a lot of women prefer the no directing rooms because then they dont have to see the constant steam of c**p appearing on the screen.
Oh and as for the cams going on and off, and its just a thought, when ppl multi room it screws up their watchers list, sometimes i switch the cam off and back on again to reset it, should think others do as well. Daylight on cam when its dark in the UK maybe someone is a) on hol or b) live in a different country. SH is not a conspiracy despite what you might think.
