Couples in chatroom

If you have a couple account, it is now possible for each person to join the chatroom individually. Please note at the moment this feature is being tested for any possible bugs, and is provided as a separate link on the chatroom page.
To access the beta chat, go to the chatroom page and click on "Try beta chat" below the main chatroom entry button.
You must have a couple account for this to work.
Any problems or issues, please reply to this thread.
Edit: Removed beta chat link now, this has been put live.
Edit 2: I'm afraid we've had to pull this temporarily while we review some technical issues.

first bug - apparently when i am in under Pink_n_Blue (Pink) i dont exist as far as a profile is concerned

For those that want to change the 'logon as' names - these are taken from your :: Profile > nicknames - change > then 'save'.

This is most likely because not everyone is using the beta chat. I'm going to put it live now so this problem should go away.

In the previous chat,we could click on the members name in the chat room as they typed and could check their profile from there, but this facility is no longer available in new chat.

The feature should be back either Friday or early next week.
It will be available for those couples with Extras on their account, for those genuine couples that have had to upgrade another account in order to use the chatroom at the same time, we will credit one account with extended membership and downgrade the other account, if they make a request via a support ticket.

Technical issues my arse! Why not just be honest with members and say up front it was only going to be for extras users in the first place.

Given the initial trial was all users not sure extras users in the first place is a valid comment.
I can understand why they might now have promised limiting it initially to Extras users, certainly it could well be from a system point of view as it would reduce some of the additional load on the Chat servers when compared with opening up to all users, and therefore some of the issues encountered, both seen by Admin and also noticed by end users in availability, crashes, slow responses, etc. during the initial 'trial'.
Then depending on usage, load, etc. they could better plan/manage system hardware upgrades, etc. for any move to 'open up' access to this functionality for other users in the future.

No they wont. They're hoping they get a raft of people paying more for slightly more functionality in the chat. They don't charge people extra to sit in 2 chatrooms wanking over cams , so why charge a couple extra if they wish to be in the same room together.

I've just checked out what you get for the extras package. Aside from the couples chat feature we have no interest in the other features and all in all the SH membership is poor value for money in our case, so we're unlikely to renew at the end of the month.

Agreed!! :thumbup: I'm not gonna complain, we have extras on this account anyway but used to pay for another account just so that we could chat in the same room. Extras on one account works out cheaper than a whole other account does!
If you look back to this thread, it was suggested a long time ago that admin would look at creating this for couples with extras accounts.
