Been with BT for years as well. Have had a couple of problems with it, but one thing in BT's favour is that they own the telephone lines and they also own the engineers who fix the problems. If you are with another provider who rents bandwidth from BT and you have a problem you are at the end of the queue to get a fix.
If however you want a 'package' of phone, tv and tinterweb, then it is worth looking at that route, but the speed does come with a pricetag.
Personally, I prefer the good old days when we dialled up at to a node in Germany. You logged on, did what you had to do (nothing more) and then shut down quick. lol
i think it depends on how you use the internet as well .... we do a lot of downloading and sky have unlimited use where as bt say its unlimited but if you go over the limit more than twice they restrict the internet between 5 and midnight. tesco has a half decent package for a decent price and always found their customer service excellent
BT Infinity here, very few issues and when the occasional one has occurred the hardware was replaced asap
Virgin BB & free calls package here - never had a problem with it that a quick reboot of the box couldn't fix and it's fast - so if you're looking to download lots it's very cheap compared to BT's Infinity offering (that's of course if you're in a cable area).
No Virgins around here Fobs
innocent
