HELP! Apple Technical advice needed!

Hi all!
I've just got a brand new black Macbook. The sort with an intel chip inside. It has an inbuilt cam which works but i can't get it to work with this site...ie...on the chat room. Can't get much help there as everyone is too busy!
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

You are lucky to get into the Chat Room....
But seriously, Angie has a MacBook and I have a MacBook Pro. As soon as we can get into the Chat Room, we will test out the camera and tell you how we get on. It shouldn't be too horrible.
Now, if only I could get in...

Hi there thanks for the reply!
Good luck on getting in! I didn't seem to have a problem although my cam doesn't work...grrr! Let me know how you get on. Nobody else in the room seems to give a toss! Not apple users..

Try checking that your cam is selected for the chat room.
For a Macbook, enter the chat room and hold down your mouse button (for Window users, right click your mouse). This will form a drop down menu where you can select 'Settings'. A box will open where you can select the web cam icon. In the settings, please ensure that the cam on your Macbook is selected.

Hi again!
I can't seem to select my cam at all....there are a few posts with instructions along the lines of select the cam icon...!? How do i do that!? ichat seems to work fine though.

The cam icon is shown when you select settings from the menu by either right clicking your mouse if on a Windows Operating System or by holding down your mouse if you are using a Mac.
It looks like this.

See the web cam icon at the bottom? By clicking this tab, you can view the cam settings.

This is exactly what I have to do with my PowerBook - once you've selected the right camera from there, it should all work brilliantly!
