Hi Has anyone noticed a problem with the chatroom when using the new internet exploter 7 RC1? everything seams ok until you want to view someones profile and it loads the page in the same window as the chat so kicking you off the chat room. And you have to wait 5mins untill you are allowed back in.
Thanks Jay
Havent used IE for quite some time now..
Myself I use Firefox..
Reported to be much more stable than IE and as yet I have experienced no real problems..
IE is crap. I use Netscape myself with no probs
Firefox for me!!!
I was slow to change to Firefox and moaned about it but I have to say that I think its excellent now
I am on IE7 and have had same problem, plus server kicks me out altogether sometimes and while I can send messages, I see nothing coming back. Have looked at other chat rooms with no problems, so I think it is something to do with Swingingheaven and IE
The only version of IE 7 available is the beta version. With a half finished browser you will most likely encounter problems viewing this site, in addition to others on the net.
I think the full version is due for release in December. Until then, please either use IE 6 or the other browsers mentioned.
Firefox, no question.
Avoid anything perporting to be a browser from the evil mega-corp. known as micro$oft.
I dont use IE , download and use firefox, its more stable and a lot easier to clean up ;)
Jay
You are not the only one who is different and no the problems are not just with IE7.
I use IE7 and I have it running on Vista. I also have the same issue you have.
Contrary to some of the comments on here IE7 is not a 'half' complete browser. I would agree though that I do also use Firefox.
The problems though are not just restricted to IE7 and thats why I would agree with you that it is down to swingingheaven, as it is with a few other sites.
I also use a mobile device which does not use IE7 and I have problems with popups and new windows opening.
Problem is standards and people not sticking to them. And that goes for the Mozilla communities as well as the Microsoft's.
Considering that Vista RC1 is out and IE7 running on this will not have any significant changes before January when it will be shipped people should be testing their sites for issues now with the browser.
I suppose we may have to live with the issue when browsing this site. Its worth it though as i couldnt live without SH now.

i also have the same trouble about not opening a new window an going back to ie6 till its authorised by heaven
im having the same problem and got the same response from the help, surely its time to check your site works with it instead of relying on microsoft to sort it out as they may fail! its not as if IE 7 will be a rare piece of software. Have the same problems on a similar type website, its just got to be with the javascript and popups.
