Why do people sit in chatrooms and not chat?
Moving you to the chat room forum, where you might get a better response.

Why do people sit in chatrooms and not chat?

They may be waiting for people who are not yet in chat
They may be talking in whisper
Or most probably, they are doing a "towel on the sunbed" by logging in and getting a space in their favourite room for later on in the day should they choose to chat.
Finally - waiting for somebody to start a conversation in which they can have a valid input.
Any of those do?
also what about
just cos they can
voyeurs of the chatrooms
just watching others chatting and being nosy
the room is too cliquey
their pc has crashed and they cannt log out

and of course cos when you are wanking it hard to type lol

i was waiting for some1 to be honest and say that wink
Instead of the Pool or Beach Bar, we could call one of the rooms The Library, then all those who dont chat can sit there all day and stare, wank, read the paper etc ........ I was going to say this is a joke, but I think I have hit on a good idea !!!
So thats what goes on in the library mmmmmmmmm.
Over the last couple of years, I have opened my own room on server 2, during the evenings mostly. This firstly was due to the fact that I was sick of seeing a room full of people who were obviously in whisper or not there at all and no open room chat. This still happens on a regular basis.
More recently I noticed that loads of people are in several room at once, which does explain a lot of 'quietness'. How the hell can you hold a decent conversation if your are spreading yourself that thinly.
Over the years I have been a member of SH, I have chatted to, and met some great people and when I go into other rooms for a chat. I dont just sit in my room and wait for visitors, I do wander all over the chatrooms
Its nice to say that many people who visit my room, come back, time after time, and the reason they give is that it's friendly, it's polite, it's funny, it's chatty and they all get a 'hi' from me or one of the roomies when they come in. This makes people feel welcome and comfortable and leads them to be able to chat within an established group of people. I think one of the other reasons we all get on so well is that we listen to everyone's point of view, not always agreeing, but it can lead to a lively discussion without anyone falling out. We do get our share of 'idiots' but they tend to get fed up with my room, and leave cos we take the 'mick' out of lines such as 'anyone want to watch me cum?', or '25m vwe wants to meet now'.
I will stop now as this is beginning to look like an ad, which wasn't the intention at all lol

Well said Goldsmith.
I would like to start by saying I visit your room and you do make everyone feel welcome and it is present to have a nice conversation. It can get tedious in rooms where no-one chats. I think this should be put on one server and people who can hold a conversation can have the other 2 servers to chat and meet new people.
Here Here Goldsmith xxxx
