Ok you may say that if you said hi to everyone who came in who said that would be a lot of hi's - so friggin what it aint as if its hard is it biggrin

I say hello to anybody lol
But it has to be said that over the last few months people are less likely to say hello

We try and say hello to everyone also. But tbh it all depends what rooms you go in. Some rooms can have a bit of a clique and very rarely say hello to new faces.
back to the clique lol or is it just that some are busy in a convo already .. i do try to say hi to loads that go in the rooms i use but if i am deep in a convo then i concentrate on watching out for the person i am chatting to not another name

Yeah thats what we tend to do. However not everyone in every room is deep in conversation or too busy to type "hi"
I dont think "Good Morning" and "Good Day" are understood by many in the chat rooms.
Often my greetings are missed or ignored by most so I have stopped doing them.

ps:- I do get an echo from my screen at times though and plenty of un-asked for whispers.
I always get ingored anyways so whats the point. and ffs Sara dont say it's cos youre totty wee lol
when im the host in a room i say hi to everyone who comes in until the rooms to big to do that
most dont bother to respond
or if they do its to say "do you fuck guys"
then they go
very rude and dont win them friends or "meets" lol
i've noticed when i go into a new room, and where people dont know me, i dont always get an hello back, but its not always possible.. if i do spot a random hello in a room, i will try to respond.
i do this all the time, but going back to Mirc, there used to be a few good features... one where if your name was spoken in the room it would highlight the line in a differnt colour, this way if you are in mid stream talking to someone, and then someone esle does, you are less likly to miss it.
its not the saying hi i find a problem its getting people to talk to you after that, in some rooms all you see if loads of hi's and bye's and nothing else past that, untill you put your cam on then every guy in the room wants to talk to you lol
Not every guy in the room m8 lol
Seriously though it can just be a real distraction to conversation if everyone starts going hi
just my opinion anyways
oh btw numptynortos1 hi
and bye

lost I always try to say hi to people that come into my room, I think it is only polite, I do sometimes try to get people that sit quietly to join in conversations but they never answer.
I think there are a lot of ghosts around. People that look to be in the room but are not really lol
Hi all, I dont often post on here as I dont have the time. Just felt I had time to add my opinion. I find some rooms very friendly and some very unwelcoming as its not as if we've only been here 5 mins either! The most unfriendly and clicky room I have found is the North West room! And yes we do come from the NW. I have tried many times in this room with various hello's and hi's but just get ignored. Have spoken to people directly (but not directing!) and recieve no response whatsoever. I assume this is because its the same group of faces in there all the time and they dont have time for newcomers! How wrong is that?? U also thought all area rooms would be like this but have had a really good response, for example, in Yorkshire room and some others.
And before you ask, yes I do make an effort to say hi to new people, especially if they dont seem to recieve a response.
It does not cost anything to be nice does it!

Hi,
Nice signpost lost ( at a guess that was in france)?
I have a picture of a french signpost headed "misery", was quite apt at the time but that's another story.
I always try to say hello or hi in a chatroom, but appreciate that others may have been there for some time and may be chatting via whispers etc. But I do flit from one to another myself also as is the want, without a bye or leave.
I hope that is not taken as rudeness, just if no one is active (they may have fallen asleep over the last beer) then I move on.
its not to far from kildrummy a fab place
