Hi,
Just a few suggestions in relation to "keyholders" that sprung from a whisper from a MOD.
As a keyholder( room creator ) maybe the following could be added:
1. The ability to edit posts containing phone numbers/links posted in the main chat.
2. A quick reference post button that posts something like " Please remember, No Trolling"
3. A function to simply copy & paste posts by users that abuse others in the chatroom ( I know there are chat logs but maybe this would assist in abuse report.
4. The ability to assign/share the Keyholder like currently in operation in the Bi Gay Married room that both Stella and I chat in.
Just a suggestion.
I understand all of the above and to copy, paste and report is easy dunno

However, I'm not too sure I understand this bit so can you explain please?
It reads to me that you want to keep the host ability to you an maybe one or two others but I might be way off.
Clarify for the one suffering from lack of sleep please
Hi Dawnie,
I am the current keyholder of ' Bi Gay Married ' room, however if you enter the room if both myself and Stella are in the chat there are 2 keyholders me and Stella if we are both in the room, this has caused some confusion in fact a Mod whispered me today asking how can this be, 2 keyholders? It appears from talking to Stella in my absence she was allocated the key by one of your fellow Mods.
This to me makes good sense, permitting a keyholder presence if the other is not in the chat.
Please feel free to PM me if you need further clarification.
That makes perfect sense, sorry, little sleep last night redface

Hi,
1. The ability to edit posts containing phone numbers/links posted in the main chat.

Clear chat
Warn the person not to do it again
If they persist, after a warning, feel free to kick and report to the ops for further investigation.
If you need time to edit something that shouldn't be there in the first place, everybody would have time to copy the info shown.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I've just discovered the ' clear chat option '
As the keyholder I adopt the three strike rule:
1. Polite reminder in chatroom
2. Whisper the offender
3. Inform by whisper to the offender they are being kicked
Thankfully It's not come to that yet apart from an idle cam which I invoked the principle above.

only problem i can see if they have the whisper function turned off, its better to warn in the room
Thanks to all for the guidance, in particular Varken in the chatroom earlier

You're welcome wink
Some other things that may be helpful to room Hosts:
Everyone is expected to abide by the Chatroom Rules and the Site Acceptable Use Policy, which can be found here:
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/chatroom/user-rules.html
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/main/aup.html
If you are Hosting a room, you should pay particular attention to the Opening Rooms section in the chatroom rules. We have intentionally kept this short and straightforward, but basically as a Host your role is to help members stay within the rules. If you need to kick someone for doing something inappropriate (e.g. directing in a no-directing room), warn them in open chat first - this gives them an opportunity to modify their behaviour. The fact that you're reading this means you are aware of the forums and you read threads. Some members only use the chatroom and may not even be aware that rules exist (I know, but it's the way it is).
When someone opens a new room they automatically become a Host. When the last member leaves a room, it's closed and all previous Host settings are deleted. A Host can give Host status to another person, so it's possible to have multiple Hosts in a room.
If you are Hosting a room and are going to be away for some time, you may want to pass on Host status to someone else (but ask them first!).
If you have any queries feel free to ask any of the Ops. We're here to help you have a good time on here, not just to "police" the site.
