As the other thread was getting rather old and busy, i've started two new threads for chat issues.
This thread is not for disconnection or connection issues, or for general moaning about the chat.

Please be specific and precise about the issue you're having. Please include your browser type (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome) and version number when you report.

Thanks for sorting out the disconnection issues .. haven't been booted today - things are looking up surprised

)
but .. and you knew there was going to be a but ... this afternoon, when I click on a profile, I am only getting the top half - there is no scroll bar to show the bottom half of the profile - it was fine this morning.
I am using Firefox.

You're welcome, glad its working better for you, and thanks for letting us know.
The profile popup issue was just literally fixed about 30 minutes ago. If you fully close chat and go back in, it should be working.

having to scroll chat manually in new chat

My web cam has worked OK up to now, but has stopped when in a chat room. It works fine in the old chat rooms. I use IE8 as I have for the past 12 months.
Can you help?

I have Desktop version 1.0 13 installed, running under Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
When clicking on the desktop icon I'm asked if I want to upgrade to version On clicking 'yes' it seems to download the update but get the message:
Download Failed
There was an error downloading the update. Error# 16824
I can send you a screen print of the message if that is any help.

Running Firefox under Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
In the latest update profiles are now opening in a new window rather than as a new tab in the window last opened.
The old chat still opens profiles in a new tab; I prefer this as it as all profiles are kept together in the same window.

Hi,
With regards to the dekstop error, can you uninstall the chat using Add/Remove programs, this normally happens because you had the Beta version of the desktop chat installed first, this needs to be uninstalled manually, once you've done this and installed the new desktop app, it should update automatically ok.
For the popup issue - there should be a setting in firefox to open new windows in a tab rather than an actual popup.

when i or someone else have agreed to open a private room with a password.
no password option appears for entry into room. just the green sign in logo.
so when sign in is clicked on entry is refused because password has not been available.

Hi,
After clicking on the green Join button, you should get a password prompt on the screen. If you don't do let me know.

Hi there,
We are able to connect absolutely fine however it continually says that we are a single male rather than a couple, ie just the blue charactor rather than blue & pink.
Im going in through Internet Explorer, not sure what version if that matters I can find out.

Thanks for the reply. I've uninstalled the Desktop app and reloaded it an its now fine. However the settings and font colour are still not retained between sessions.
With regard to profiles opening in a new window rather than tabs:
o firefox is set to 'open new windows in a tab'. I can send you a screen image if you like
o desktop chat version and old desktop opens profiles in tabs but the not the new desktop

i use opera.. and cant get the webcam to work... it shows the adobe accept/deny screnn in "my camera" but doesnt allows me to do anything with it..is this the same problem as Graham?

Hi I'm not getting cam pictures through. it's currently 14:59. It was working ok 1 hr ago. Tried re-booting ect and 3 different rooms now... HELP

I am using IE
Scrolling sometimes works but inevitably end up having to keep moving the vertical scrollbar in order to read the chat!!! That is every time I log in to the chatroom and in each room.

Why can I not connect to the chatroom via the regular traffic light "Enter the Chatroom " icon. I have to go via the desktop icon.
Also when I am in a chatroom it will not load a person's profile when I click on their name. Instead it takes me the home page?

PLEASE NOTE: IE9 IS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED AS IS STILL IN BETA (the browser, not the chat)

Whilst investigating/helping some friends who were encountering this issue we checked which version of Flash Player they were using
(You can do similar via )
In both instances we found that they were on older versions of Flash Player and as soon as they clicked the link off that web page to go to tthe Adobe Flash Player download centre or and installed the latest version, those issues have ceased to occur.
Why this should be when the new Chat doesn't use Flash Player per se, we don't know.
However talking to both friends they advise that they were also viewing cams when they went into Chat and the web-cam/video-cam part of new Chat continues to rely on Flash Player to work.
Updating Flash Player has now resolved their issue rather than any SH fix of the new Chat
The conclusion we have drawn being that it was their Flash vserion causing new Chat issues for them rather than SH.
TOP TIP - If your Flash version is not the newer v10.1......
then I'd recommend downloading the latest version. However the tip is to un-tick the Include in your download option for Free Google Toolbar (optional) ( MB) as we've found from friends and family that this extra bit people have missed and downloaded has caused them lots of issues.

Same for me, also profiles open up minimized.

I joined last weekend specifically because I like to chat and watch cams. Cams didnt work at all last weekend and only worked for me for a short while yesterday. Now not working again. seems I have been ripped off with the membership fee!

when i click the box to allow cam nothing happens. When i select the settings it wont allow me to change them. It can freeze the page and i need to shut the computer down.... HELP PLEASE?????

Monday I cant get any cams to show. I'm not the only one. Is this a known issue with a fix soon???
