As a regular cammer on this site I have suggested an option for blocking individuals from veiwing your cam.
It is most annoying when putting on a show to have someone repeatedly make obnoxious comments or requests and this often leads to me turning off my cam all togther. Wouldn't it be great if you could just stop a particular person veiwing while allowing everyone else the option to keep enjoying the show?
I think this option would encourage more users to cam, I know of so many who wont cam because of the way some people are spoken to while on cam or because they dont want certain people looking at them.
What are your thoughts on this matter? Is it a good idea? Would you use the option if it were available?
I use another site which has this option and they have had no problems with it and as you quite rightly point out, it cuts down on unwanted behaviours.
I dont mind being watched at all otherwise I wouldnt be on cam so much and being a voyuer myself I appreciate being able to watch others. I would however like the option to prevent unwanted attention.
The only other way around this I feel would be to open a locked room and share the password with those I know and trust.
Thanks for the support and comments, maybe if enough people ask for it............ ever the optimist me lol
xxxxxxxxxx
I think this is a great idea!
I can also see different ways it could work to benifit all parties, as the people that like to play on cam can have some control, without always setting up their own room to boot people.
It could also reduce the amount of whispers cammers get, if they know the people on cam can take away their right to watch.
It could reduce arguements in people complaining that their cam is going off because the minority can be idiots and show total lack of respect.
It would let the people that do enjoy a show carry on enjoy watching what people enjoy to give them.
BTW I have never put on a show on cam so I am not talking here for any self gain for myself, but can see how it could benefit a wider community on sh.
I think a great suggestion
grt idea xami, worth looking at i think, speaking as a keen voyeur myself smile xx
i see you had a massive response lol xxx lol
I have said before that this would be a good idea!
However my way of dealing with these twats is simple I love to make the idiots making degrading disrespectfull remarks look like the idiot by keepin a check on comments n if feel any not good whisper the person aimed at and check friendly banter if not I use my quick sarcastic comments to shut them up and make them slink away!

I'd like to see an option to force people to watch your cam lol I don't bother going on cam, cos nobody watches. (Well only long enough for and ewwwww "click"). If I knew that by putting on my cam, I'd appear on everybodies chat page, then that would be reason itself to do it regularly.
Ian hahahahahaha nice one biggrin
and I think there are some really possitive reasons why this option should be available and what a great addy to the site.
Echoed by those above.
Less bans = more money. :P
If you cant convince them confuse them if you cant confuse them bribe them wink

It`s a great idea !!! That`s why it`ll never be implemented.
The chat rooms are geared towards voyeurs and it is their needs that take priority.

It`ll never happen, things like this are now put to a vote. As the cam watchers are in the majority, they`ll hardly vote for something that may restrict their viewing rolleyes

You know what, I fully agree - its like the "verification" system that was so aggressively "voted" against that "SH doesn't need verification". to which I said "Ah, so rather than make things harder for fakes and timewasters, we want to actually encourage them to use SH as a harbouring ground?" I've seen several sites use one form of verification or the other, and whilst not perfect, it at least forces the fakes and timewasters to be smarter - rather than just "giving them the front door keys" that SH does, so to speak.
But back to the topic.
I'd like to see other options (as an idea) in chat that when you click a name in the user list you can:
1) send message/email to user
2) ban user from whispering you
3) ban user from viewing cam
Ofcourse I'm not suggesting "it should be exactly like this", merely an idea - possibly inclusive but not exhaustive? Thoughts?
Some great ideas there Ahabs and I would also like to see these options available in chat. It certainly makes sense to me. A happier playground for all wink
