Hi.
I'd like to report some abusive chat from another member that both myself and several other people were subjected to in one of the chatrooms this evening. I've hunted around for a chatroom op, yet can't find one anywhere.
Can someone please contact me so I can give further details please.
Many thanks.

Hiya Sara
Cant help with last nites problem but I've found the best thing to do if you cant find an op floating around is to post a message on here requesting some help and the room name.
Ian made it into my room within a couple of mins the other nite when i needed help - so ta Ian xx
As UI have already said on another thread.
Because of the new friends feature ppl can tell when their friends are on line so add an ops/mod/admin to your friends list and they will show up when they are on line with a pm button handy too.
Ah thanks everyone.
Will go ahead and do that next time. Thanks for the positive advice.

Is there a list anywhere with all the names of the ops/mods and admin?

Thankfully, long enough for me to work out how to do here
:giggle:
You can also PM any of the Ops by clicking their name on this list and then clicking "Contact Member".
*Taken from sarges chatroom welcome sticky.*
Ahem you can't do this anymore according to my pc. redface
Seems to be another glitch from the change-over to add to the list of things outstanding...
The links did used to work

We've rewritten the profile links so they are www.swingingheaven.co.uk/member/YourUserName - that thread just hasn't been updated and it's showing the old URLs which no longer exist.
Thanks, I'll go update them

Working again now! :bounce: :bounce:
The question that no one is answering is, what is happening to the abusive people?
Are they being given a slap on the wrist because they "pay their dues" or are they being dealt with?
Eg. Account suspended, banned or just left to cause havoc in the chat rooms
My personal view is they only serve in making the rooms miserable, which in turn makes everyone leave, which in turn could result in lost revenue.
Because people either migrate to other sites or simple decide that it’s not worth the hassle and quit the scene.
To be honest either way its bad news, for SH to let these type of people into the site. I know you can't predict if they will cause trouble when they sign up but when they rear their ugly heads they should be dealt with.
And before anyone says they are, someone was allegedly reported a number of times and they are still causing trouble.
On a side note I notice there are 12 chat room ops has anyone looked into finding regular members who are on at the times when ops aren’t.

In my limited experience, the really bad ones do get dealt with...ie banned.

I can confirm that this is correct. The length of the ban depends on the severity of the offence. If it really bad, then details are given to the relevant authorities.

There are a lot of occasions in chat where certain members deliberately wind up some of the more volatile members and then wander around bleating about how horrible somebody has been to them ...poor little darlings rolleyes

ahh yes, the professional victims lol they know exactly where the line is drawn and the tippy toe along it so often.

If you are in a room with a good host there is rarely any real trouble.

I hosted a room the other night. In five hours, I didn't even have to post a warning.
Anyway the way that people are dealt with depends on what rule has been broken and what their previous record has been like. Relate it to the workplace if you like....
Would you dismiss somebody if they walked in 5 minutes late one morning?
In the workplace there is a system of verbal and written warnings. We have something similar here. We can warn, we can add a short ban, and a number of longer bans upto a permenant one.
Yes there are some crazy people out there, but they are not just limited to this site. They get everywhere, only once we've found them, not here !

Nothing to do with the gold star icon against your name then Ian (unless you were incognito of course)
