Looks to me as though Zone Alarm has blocked one or a range of ports used to access the Chat Room. Perhaps you could find a helpful Admin who could tell you which ports need to be opened?

My point, Jon, is that most of the time, the replies from Admins / Ops are not very helpful. Where people are helpful, it is right to thank them. When people are unhelpful / arrogant / obnoxious, it is right to point that out too.
