slow chat room

hi I got a new computer and it's the biz niz 1gb memory 2.8 gz lots of hard drive etc and been trying to get in the chat room but it take ages for me to log in and when I'm in each of my message is very slow to appear I tried to uptade java but thats not made any difference any idea any one ?
