have seen all the above in room names....does this mean people can direct, can't direct...or as i believe the room name has to have no directing in the title.
have seen these room names all over the 3 servers. in rooms where there is usual rules etc etc...can people be kicked for directing.
Good question creampie.
I have found these are usually regular rooms that hosts expect regular users in, and the regular rules would be No whispering, No directing etc as per the chat room rules.
Think it says in the AUP or chatroom rules that directing is not allowed unless statedin the title
If someone is new to the room they will not know what the "usual rules" are.
If it doesn't say "No Directing" in the room title then directing is allowed!! confused :? :?

Totally our point too Bilks!!! How are ppl to know what ususal rules, be nice etc means??
A lot of people go in the "geographical" rooms in hope that no directing is a rule but til they see these daft rooms names, they aren't!

There are even rooms where there is no directing, no whispering and no chatting...
and everyone is nice to each other
'cos no-one does anything but just sit in there and vegetate.
And the Teletubbyies love each other in La La land

Personally, I don`t open rooms with this stuff in the name. But it`s hardly daft !! rolleyes
People often come into the room and ask what the usual rules are. They are generally told that it means no directing and no whispering, but I have seen them get sent to read the AUP lol
The usual response to being told to read the AUP is
"What`s that then ??"
I think thats the point of the thread flower, doesn't matter if they are sent to read the AUP, if it doesn't say "No Directing" in the room title then its allowed, It clearly states in the AUP that if you don't wish to be directed to put "No Directing in the room title.
So surely putting "Usual Rules" in the room title and sending people to read the AUP is just going to confirm its ok to direct?
As for uninvited whispers everyone already knows that one but you still see rooms with "No Whispers in the room title, Why? No whispers already applies to all rooms regardless of the title, although you also see rooms with "Whispers Allowed"??? in the room title, well according to the AUP there not, well not without asking first anyway. Isn't putting things like that flaunting the rules a bit?
I have hunted through the AUP with a magnifying glass to find the 1 that states its against the rules to have a pet on cam with you (and no I don't mean any form of ) Purely a cat/dog jumping onto the owners knee when they are on cam. However I have seen a chatroom op kicking people for it and even threatening people with bans. Was this op inventing new rules cos they were bored or did I miss something somewhere?

Couldn`t find anything either. All I could find was something saying no amimals can be seen in pics but nothing to say they can`t be on web cam!!!.
To be honest it would make far more sense if the rule regarding directing was directing not allowed unless specified in the room title. The way it is currently suggests that directing is the norm, and generally welcome. My experience is that that is far from the truth and that directing is only appreciated by a minority of couples and single females. And by the would-be directors of course! ;-)
I agree whispering without asking is already against the rules, but it is probably the most common and irritating rule infringement. While specifying no whispering isn't necessary, it may deter the very occasional whisperer who really doesn't know the rules.

Now that would really cause a problem in the norfolk/suffolk/east anglia (name varies, but you get the drift) as my moggies actually have a fan club that asks where they are if they're NOT in frame somewhere - perhaps the room host has a feline phobia??
