Where has my favourite free chatroom gone?

We love this site and the free chatroom but mysterious things are afoot!!!!
For weeks now the chatrooms have been a bit hit and miss, slow, freezing, and even a long period around Xmas where we could only get a maintenance message which lasted for over a week.
Today can't get in unless we part with £50 quid.
Now I'm not a skin flint and I am happy to pay for a quality service that is reliable and consistant but on recent form how can I be sure I will get value for money.
I think it is poor marketing to enforce an upgrade fee after a period of poor service. If the new service is better why not give it to everyone for say a month to show how good it is and then inform people, in advance, that if they want to keep it they will have to pay from a future date.
If it is good you will be inundated with upgrades rather than leaving people like us in a quandry!!!!

The chatroom is only available to full(paid up) members and has been for a little over a year now.
As you can post in the forum I see no reason why you cannot use the chatrooms either dunno

I thought Heaven extras were per year.
Maybe you have 2 accounts, hence the reason you state £50.

when you joined this site recently was it a free membership you had or did you pay to become a full member?
maybe you have been using chat as a taster?
having the extras on top of the basic paid membership makes no difference to being able to get into chat.

I'm a paid up member, been on normal membership for a while, but I can't get in to the chatroom either, was it something I said? lol Or is there now another extra cost?

We are shown as a free member and I have been accessing the chatrooms without problems for ages now.
Today for the first time clicking the Chatroom button takes me to a page inviting me to upgrade at for a year.
So question is; as a free member should I be able to access the ordinary chatroom?

Thinking about it I believe that we have paid to be a full member but am now shown as free member, could my membership have run out without me knowing or could the site have changed my status from full to free member?
Any thoughts?

Your best bet is to submit a support ticket..
It wont get read till Monday though :cry:

Thanks all for your help and suggestions. Have put a support ticket in and we will see what happens on Monday.
