This is my first post and I am totally new to the whole concept of "Dogging".
I live in Bristol and have looked at the Bristol Downs area that is currently supposed to be used for this pleasent pastime - nice place.
My first and obvious question is, am I to old at the age of 55. I would appreciate honest answers before I make a fool of myself amongst the local Dogging comunity.
My second question, if I am not too old is it acceptable to be a lone male dogger.
Third and last question to those that live in my locality - is dogging only a late evening activity or does it also take place in the daytime?
Looking foward to any responces to any of these questions.

I can't comment on the average age of doggers in your area, but certainly where we live, there are quite a number of guys who go dogging and are in their late 50's. Most of them seem to have just as much fun as the younger ones.
It is probably more acceptable to be a lone dogger. When multiple guys turn up in cars we and probably most people, would be very wary of them unless there had been an arranged meet etc.
I believe daytime dogging does happen but I for one would not engage in it for fear of being seen by Joe Public out for a stroll :shock:

im sure peeps prefer the older guy watching them rather than the younger guy watching, who will probs tell all his mates the next day in the pub. ( no offence to the younger guys on here. some are ok. )
i prefer doing it in the day ( not that ive done a lot yet. lol ) you can see whos in the cars and whos around and if the police pull in. if someone does see you looking into a car, then it just looks as though you are talking to the couple ( as long as you havent got IT out. haha) and also if someone pulls in to the carpark, in the daytime, you can just go off for a walk. instead of being stranded in the dark in the middle of a carpark.
but of course everyone has diifferent opinions on this.

As an older dogger (no, I ain't as old as you, I've got a year to go yet) I find it makes no difference.
As long as I don't have to run !
People feel slightly less worried about an older guy wandering about the car.
Just a bit older and you'll be able to pull the "doddery old c*nt wandering about with dementia" routine, and get away with it. You're just about old enough to get away with asking for directions......
After all, we've got a guy here who pulls the "protecting the park from perverts" routine, it works wonders, all the couples aplogise after they clock him peering into the motor !!

Thanks for your encouraging replys. I must admit that I was surprised at the fact that my age does not seem to matter - I fully expected that dogging was a playground for the younger person or couple. Looks like I may get to have some fun after all.
Would also be grateful if anyone local to Bristol could PM me with good locations in or around Bristol. (other than the one I know about on the Downs)

A friend of mine once commented on having fun in his car with his wife to be near Gloucester (top of the hill, great views, you know the place)
Anyway he said his wife to be had a leg out of each window of his soft top MG Midget when he spotted an old fella watching in the bushes.
He called out "hello" to which the bloke starting babbling about UFO's and "their already here you know", before wondering off.
My friend just assumed he was a bit loopy....I assumed he was a rather well versed dogger, well prepared for getting caught with his "I'm loopy & harmless, just ignore me routine"

Incidentaly, even though I only live about 30 miles from Gloucester, I am so new to this game that I have no idea of the area you mentioned on a hill. Is this a dogging area or just one of a general sight seeing - or maybe both
