Well at least they won't be dead any more Shaz - there will be lots of boy racers etc. there now!
Sorry to dissappoint you davebrum about your ideas for what was taking place on Friday night with the police but I wish people wouldnt guess what is happening and then post on here when they are way off the mark. Its statements like this that are putting would be couples off from going out dogging. Where did you get the idea that mountain rescue would be there to deter would be doggers away confused: :?:
I can also assure you that it was not a planned excercise.

davebum i think your name says a lot as we think your more of a beacon guy and dont know much about the if u took the time out 2 go and ask what was going on with the police and search team that was at the chase on fridaynight then you would know its wasnt an exercise and they wasnt bothering any doggers. they were just there doing there job for a reason you obviously dont know about .so as far as trying to put any couples off from going the chase then it asnt stopped us from going . so hope it asnt put anyother couples off from going . m & j
I too saw the police first hand over the chase that night and I formed the opinion that they were looking for someone specific by the form of their activity. This assumption was confirmed to me when I left and noted the ploice Helicopter making its way over the chase....
I dont think we have a Police authority that is prepared to squander its precious resources on Helicopter dogging watch. rolleyes
I thought I was pretty vague about locations but apologies will be more careful on that in future.
As for me thinking it was an exercise of some sort, i wasnt challanged when I entered that particular area and there were several officers about on the particular road.
I didnt mean the police was there in particular to stop doggers but from an oberservational point of view it looked like an exercise given there were various forces it seems there and the Helicopter was not around when I was there.
Again apologies to all for the misunderstanding.
Have fun

You might be right there, the current police activity (if you dont already know) is because a woman has gone missing and police are combing the area. The chase might be one to avoid for a good while, actually.
darkfire u seem like another guy that dont know much about the chase, as theres no reason to avoid going there just because of what as been going on there. as the police are only there for the part of what you do know about and thats for searching 4 that poor woman that yes as gone missing due to the posters that are as far as avoiding the place theres no need as if the police really wanted to stop dogging then they would just have all the car parks closed. if they are on a car park then theres plenty more to choose from over on the chase .. m & j
That is the beauty of the chase compared to most dogging areas there is about 25sq miles of it and the police have not got the manpower or the resources to search all of it for that poor woman. Lets all hope that she is somewhere hopefully safe and sound and wish her a safe return but dont forget there are plenty of car parks available and quiet spots so dont lets all get dramatic about this and start jumping to wrong conclusions especially those that have never been or never will go to the chase and are forming opinions on heresay and second hand information.

And you seem like another guy that cant take the time to check out peoples profiles.... or respect their post count, experience and knowledge.
Just because a person has experience and large post count doesnt mean that they are experts on every dogging site in the country. Everybody can form an opinion from reading newspapers or seeing tv news but does not make them an expert on that particular area and start handing out advice when they probably have never visited the area. I would never dream of giving advice to anyone about a dogging area I have never visited.

Firstly, I was refering to the point that if he had checked the profile he would see that darkfire is not a "Guy".
Secondly, no one has mentioned the word "Expert"
Thirdly, Ohh........... I cant be bothered...... Whatever!
so ok i was wrong on thinking DARKFIRE was a guy as i didnt check on im sorry about that darkfire for thinking you was a still to the point of why should anyone keep away from the chase just because there as been police activity for dogger's or anyone else that visits there for what ever FROGSTER, darkfire may not be a guy but how often does she visit the chase DO YOU KNOW as she aint local to the yes now ive read her profile and where does it say that she wants to meet people,i dont see the CHASE on her list DO why put off people that are local to the chase or even anyone that isnt chase is a very nice place to visit day or night and not just for DOGGING.
p,s so frogster before you come in here shouting the odds about the chase and what goes on there how often do you visit as your not living to close by either to know much about what goes on infact your not even as close as darkfier is are you lol.. so dont come telling locals or none locals its a place to avoid like darkfire did..
Firstly MartinandJo, wind you neck in and stop getting so worked up over someone just expressing their opinion. No need to start getting personal and bitchy to people who are just expressing a common sense approach, and you dont need to live near to a place to be able to display some common sense.
And secondly, try to think of this logically, if the police are doing a search on the chase at the moment then surely it is common sense to keep away. Anyone hanging around there, whether it be for dogging, a picnic or just for a walk, are an added hinderance to their search, they could be destroying what could be valuable evidence, getting in the way of the search etc.
So infuture, before you jump in, try to think that people are having a go at you, or are trying to stop people attending the chase, think for a minute and realise that some people on here are actually trying to be helpfull by expressing what is obviously common sense advice!
well im sorry for expressing my opinion about the matter but when you know of people that have found others there that have gone missing then it is a local thing as i think that most people now that goes to the chase are on the look out for this poor woman that as gone missing and wouldnt dream of getting in the police or search teams way . as i think that most people now that knows about this missing woman are still hopping that she turns up safe and sound.
Nothing wrong at all with expressing your opinions, it would be a very boring forum if people didnt express their opinions, just please dont take other people opinions so personally.
Even if we cant all agree on whether people should or shouldnt be going there at the moment, at least we all agree on hoping the police safely find the woman (and I dont know the background to this) smile
Surely that is the point of this thread NWC there seems to be suddenly an influx on SH wether it be in the forum or in the chatroom's of people making opinions and giving advice on thing's they dont know nothing about. Like I said before the chase is an area of about 25 sq miles and people that dont know this area saying stay away is beyond me. Dogging when it does happen goes on in a small part of this area and the chase is visited by many people in a day and people going missing is an all to frequent occurence that local [people know about. Nobody wants to hinder the police in there investigation and we all hope that she turns up safe and sound but for people to say stay away from the area is rather melodramatic.
ok ill leave it at that and yes we do hope she still turns up safe and sound and our thoughts are with her and her family.
Sorry Alan, but I still disagree about whether or not people should be visiting, whether it is 1 sqm or 25 sqm. At a place we used to visit a young girl was found murdered very close to the site and firstly out of respect for the girl and her family, people stopped using the site for a while and also due to the presence of the police. The Police werent bothering anyone, but we felt as if we were bothering them by intruding on what was obviously a very sensitive situation. (and this incident did take place in a very large country park).
I would also have thought that out of common decency people would want to keep away, if only to show some respect as there could possibly be someone missing in that area.
As for the influx on here, yes we have had quite a lot of members who are willing to express their views, but isnt that what makes this place what it is? Surely that is better than hundreds of 'fancy a shag' posts? The fact that members, new or old, are allowed to express their opinions if a none-judgemental environment, were we are all adult enough to respect everyones views and not start to take their views personally.
As for showing some respect for the situation and keeping away, I still cant see how this is melodramatic, I just thought it was common sense and, it seems, so did some of the other members who also expressed their views.
Lets call a close to all this bickering and nobody wants to deny anyone the right to air there views. Finally if this woman that has gone missing had any chance of being murdered I along with everyone else would agree with all your sentiments entirely NWC. But this woman has gone misssing of her own free will and lets hope she hasnt done what we all fear and that she turns up safe and sound.
Alan, I truly hope this does have an happy ending, and I also do respect you for stating your views on this
