Hi All
Had my details taken this evening at one of the known sites in the medway area & was wondering how seriously I should take what I was told. I'm not known to the police but they told me an incident report would be created & put on file, i.e reg no taken + address & time I was there etc & if I'm caught again they may prosecute me. Also to stay away from the site as they will be stepping up the checks & using unmarked cars. What I'd like to know is what can I be prosecuted for & has anyone else had the same experience but still carried on dogging & been caught again?
Regards

hi there what were you doing and did anyone complain there the important questions personally id say i was bat watching with a grin and ask them what they thought i was doing
We have been pulled by the police a few times in the area in huddersfield, they asked us what we were doing there and we told them we had come to see what all this dogging malarky was, they spouted off about how dangerous it was hanging round these parts and the rest of it, but at the end of the day as we are a couple we are less likely to get hassled and intimidated, also since we are there together we have nothing to hide from each other, they obvioulsly new we wernt newbies and took it all in good jest but I can imagine how a single male on his own can be scared off especially if he has a partner at home he doesnt want to find out about his goings on, I would say dont worry thou im sure they were just trying to scare you, I know someone who has been pulled 3 times in the same area and he didnt recieve anything but his wife did know he went up there, hope my ramblings help xxxx
Thats really bad luck SD,the couple and especially the lady concearned musy have been really upset as well as yourself obviously, the only consolation I can think of is he died doing something he enjoyed, condolences, john
Thats why I prefer to stick to a site where I have the right to be naked. I suppose in the end it all depends what you were doing at the time. I believe we all have the right to do what we like ( within the law ) at any place or time - whoops nearly going into political speech mode.
Now if you had been going up to cars and sticking your knob at the window then yes I would be worried but again I believe as long as consenting adults are involved then there is no question of public decency being breached - unless you are openly flaunting it to all and sundry.
In my pre-dogging days I had my 'details' taking when I admitted I had been reading a porno mag when the cops pulled up in a lay-by because they thought I had been fly-tipping they gave the car a good going over and when they went to check the bushes nearby found a hi-fi centre that had been nicked and dumped ( so in someways they should have given me an award ).
Like others have said its best not to give them any reason to 'nick' you, I believe most are human and would rather be out doing useful police work.
Have to be an echo and say don't worry about it mate. Had my details taken so many times I should have a filing cabinet all to myself in the Thames Valley area

hi if from yer location the place you were in is connected to a tree then the kent police have been hitting this place quite hard over the last few weeks, but in answer to your question as long as you are not caught with yer trousers down or nuts deep in somebody the police can do nothing at all. they know why you are there and the kent chief of police has vowed to stamp out this antisocial behaviour ( seems friendly to me tho) so they are trying to scare people off. they have my name and address so many times i must be on everybodies xmas card list by now. having said that trouble between the boy racers and some doggers has flared physicaly in recent weeks so watch yerself mate. hey you never know but we may already know each other.
Hi SteveO Hope they were in uniform,if not hope you asked them for ID before giving out ago we had a perv round here claiming to be CID and trying to get names and ask plain clothes officers for ID, if they are genuine they will never object to your request
I got stopped leaving a dogging location and told the police the truth!, they were quite shocked. I just wish the police would get more involved when we get trouble with scum bags at dogging sites. The police tell us how bad it is that consenting adults have sex with each other whilst the house down the road is being burgled!!!.
I just think the police were out to scare you away and were hoping that by doing so you would be less likely to come back, I wouldn't worry about anything said to you. I've had both ends of the spectrum when it comes to the police, most of the time they don't even bother stopping now as they know the car has tax, legal tyres etc and they would just be wasting their time. But sometimes you get the over the top copper, who is out on a personal crusade to rid the town of dogging action.
Always ask to see the warrant card of any copper who stops you, it's your legal right to do so and write down the names and numbers of the coppers, I always do this, and after a while the same copper doesn't want to keep pulling you as they know that it might be seen as harressment, after all as long as you don't get caught in the act then your not actually doing anything wrong by being parked in a car park at night.
You have commited no offence Steve , calm down and just ignore them .
I remember the first and only time I had my name and address taken down by the cops at a dogging site as they said there was a lot of trouble there with stolen goods being handed on.
I lied and said I was just chilling out and getting away from civilisation.
I was absolutely pissing myself for ages afterward but nothing happened.

Incident report, MAY, mean your details are recorded on a database somewhere but only maybe, then if a violent crime happened to be committed at the carpark concerned you 'may' find your self being cross referenced as a ' known frequenter' of the site or suspected activity.
There is nothing inherently illegal other than possibly considering a couple of very minor bye law things if you were spending too long there.
Some are just tossers some are good coppers who will visit sites on a random basis and believe it or not they do provide some benefit as they probably scare away the potentential dangerous deviants, random questioning and detail taking is all part of this, unless of course you encounter a tosser who joined to make up for some personal social ineptitude.
Just don't get caught with your pants down etc, don't pester anyone and don't be rude to the coppers and generally they will treat you fairly (you never know when they say visit ing in un-marked they may mean themselves at night in their own car, nough said.
Will echo the last comments. Be respectful, don't approach anyone unless you get an invite and if you don't feel comfortable about a car trust your instincts. Plenty of unmarked cars round this area and they have started going out paired up. Be safe and be lucky.

Surely it cannot be the SAME wing commander, we are too far away from Norfolk??
legging it into the bushes seems to raise thier hackles, bit like a terrier with a rabbit. have seen many a dooger who legged it into the bushes persued by darth vader and his stormtroopers, so it may not be that good an idea. keep out of sight and calmly leave by the exit may be a better idea. i actualy can spell but fall down on the typing
Just a little info make of it what you will.
I leave the rest to your imagination where it comes from.
If you get caught in flagranta could be.
Conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace (now come the old jokes!)
You have to be found commiting this not on a complaint from public.
Also there is outraging public decency, it to must be witnessed by officer.
If you have the old man out then it's indecent exposure, if "hard"
If you are stopped they can check you search you, outer clothing hat, no strip search, but if they suspect drugs then it's off to the nick for a search.
Officers must identify themseleves if in plain clothes with a warrant card and must give you a copy of the search record they make out, insist on it!
My advice is..yes sir..no sir..3 bags full sir..
you live to dog another day.
Plus leave your car as far away as safely possible, they cannot then connect you to it.
I too have been questioned by the police whilst sitting in a carpark at night. First occasion they just took details into their poket books, other time I was given a producer to show vehicle documents at local cop shop which I did and I never heard anything more.
As the other messages have said nothing to really worry about just exercising their "powers" some more than others.
