Curious would-be newbie - would appreciate advice, please!

Hi, all...
I'm very, very new to all this, so please be patient with me!
I am very interested in getting into this scene (and I hope my missus will after a little persuasion!) but I really don't know where to start!
To be quite honest I'd initially like to just look on and get a feel (is that the right word??) for what goes on but I haven't a clue where to go or what to do.
I suppose a good start would be to find out where to go? I have two bases, one in the north-west (north Manchester to be more precise) and one in the south (Hampshire/Surrey/Berkshire areas). I've checked out the "locations" section, but I'm still unsure about where the best places to go are (especially as I've thought about going to some of those places and subsequently read about people getting trouble from the local thugs). I understand that posting locations etc is a no-no, but if someone would like to PM me, I'd be grateful. I'm not into the gay scene, though.
Secondly, I really don't know what I can expect to see? Inside a car? Outside a car? In a secluded park area? Under a 6000-watt lighting rig smile

Thirdly, I don't know what to look for and when to look for it! For instance, I visited a site - if we're being cryptic, it was near Sandhurst ;) - on a weeknight at around which at this time of year was well into twilight. There were lots of cars there in the carpark but they appeared to belong to genuine dog walkers! Are you lot so good at being discrete that you all look like heathly excercise-types? Or had I hopelesssly mis-guessed my times/days?
Fouthly, what do you do when you find what you're looking for? Do you get out of your car? How do you see what's going on etc? Do you chat about the weather or the current state of world peace? How do you know you aren't intruding on someone who doesn't wish you to be there?
I'm really, really sorry for being such a newbie, but I've got to start somewhere and if anyone could give me some pointers I'd be glad to get a reply or a PM!

Pick a spot from the list, go there, park up and wait... that's all you have to do. wink

You must have seen all the yelling a screaming about people not thinking, acting stupidly, etc, so don't be one of them!
Park up well away from anyone else... always use dipped lights when you enter the venue and NEVER be tempted to blaze your lights into anyone's window. The ladies easily and I'm sick of dick heads blazing their full beams into my face!
For a first visit, just stay in your car and watch. You may eventually have a chance to speak with other doggers, but let them approach you...
There is enough wisdom and information on this site to get anyone started. But it has to be said the best way of learning is by going out and talking to people.
Above all, remember it's a game of delicate actions and respectful distance..

Excellent response & advice Heather lets get back to what dogging is all about & be respectful & get rid of all the dickheads who think it is there god given right to be guaranteed a shag every time.

Jon got rid of one such dick head just over a week ago. We went out to a local park and before we had turned the engine off, a guy pulled open the door next to me and reaching in and grabbed hold of my breast, asked "Can I get in and fuck you?" :shock: :shock: :shock:
Needless to say Jon and he had an exchange and we haven't seen him since, but at least now I'll remember to lock the doors when we go out, until such time as I choose to open them wink

I'm not convinced that listing dogging sites on here or anywhere else is such a good idea. It gives people the knowledge of where to go, but they sadly don't stop to read the 'rules' of dogging first. They just turn up and act as that guy did, fully expecting not only a free shag, but a quick one too by the sound of it rolleyes
