Hi Guys/Gals.
I notice that there's a swingers chat room on irc, how about we create a Dogging Room also.
Its good that we have a forums for us to chat on, but nothing beats chatting real time.
Perhaps the regulars/mods in here could create one and then we all have a place to hang out and gas!?

The only reason I ask is i visited the Swingers chat room tonight, and there didnt seem to be much in the way of Dogging Chat. Granted this is probably because I am new and didnt really know anyone but it was just a thought to get the like minded people in the same room at the same time.
If you feel that its not worth it, thats fine it was just a suggestion.

It is a valid question but a chatroom dedicated to dogging would get stale very quickly, I mean what would people find to chat about that they couldn't chat about in the room now? I think what you need to do is get to know people first then they will be more likely to talk to you about your interests. I don't know how many doggers frequent the chatroom but a lot of discussion threads are posted on here.... why not join in some of those?

I feel that if it is a 'chatroom' rather than a forum then people can discuss experiences and most importantly make contact and get to know fellow doggers. I have recently started to go into the chatroom and its a nightmare and does nott really make me want to re-visit. There are so many conversations going on at any one time its almost impossible to get a handle as to whats going on and therfore difficult to really meet people and get your personality across.
Surely this could be a separate room added to the currrent chatroom. If we also have the ability to PM people then its easier to arrange meets hopefully avaioding the boy racers more often.
I really see it as a form of meeting ppl who have the same interest. The forum is not the ultimate or best way way to do this but I agree its what we currently have.
Thats my personal feeling, no criticism aimed, I just feel it will make the site even more friendly and people will be able to 'weed out' the timewasters easier as you get to know your fellow doggers.

Just adding my two penneth worth in !! I think a seperate chat room would be a great idea. Have you ever had that spur of the moment inclination to go to a dogging site, then sit there for hours utterly frustrated at being there alone, well if there was a Dogging chatroom you could intantly find like minded people to meet you & Have fun- Rarther than sending a PM(Or E~Mail) - Wait for a reply(Which sometimes doesn't come) - in the hope that the person you wanted happens to have thier computer on. So frustrating when you get a reply the following day saying i would have loved to meet you last night but......
I hope this stregthens the need for a dedicated chatroom :twisted:

i know it will be a lot of work for the mods, but i think its worth

It would actually be no work for the mods at all.... at least the ones who are not chat room ops (most of us). I have given the reasons why I personally think a dogging chatroom would be redundant and bring no extra value to the site... but as it has been requested that I show Mark the idea, that I have done.

A few people have said this before, but here's my take as a chat room operator.
If we did create sub room, where would it all end? We'd have to create a couples for couples room, a couples for single males room, a couples for single females room, a bi male for couples room, a bi male for bi males room, a bi female for bi female room, a doggers room....... the list could potentially be endless, and who would go into which room?
On a personal level, I play sometimes as a single female and sometimes as part of a couple. So would I go into the single female for couples, single female for males, bi fem for bi fem? Or when playing as a couple, would I go into the couples for single males, couples for couples, couples for single females?
The chat would IMHO become so diluted as to be non-existent and (as has happened on other site's chat rooms) probably kill the chatroom off altogether. Nobody will stop anyone from having this type of discussion, but I seriously think it's a non starter. As ginger jo pointed out, she goes into the chatroom on a regular basis and manages to arrange meets from there.
I'll keep my eye on this thread and try to answer any further questions..... And this is my first post in the dogging forum I think

Doesn't really strengthen your argument at all. You've just blown it. If you PM someone in the hope they are online, it's no different from looking in a 'dogging' chatroom and still not finding them online!! So what's the difference? The whole idea of dogging is going to a car park and waiting, that's part of the game! The potential that someone may come in, that they may play, that they may let you play. What happens in the evening when they are all out playing - there's no-one in the chatroom to talk to!! :shock:
This is a national site, so you may find one or two people in a chatroom who are doggers, but more likely to be not from your area, so again, doesn't really help.
Personally, speaking as someone who works on this Site and is a Dogger, the benefit to a few would be outweighed by the inconvenience to others, ie, Mark setting it up and the Ops (not Mods) who would police it. Tell me, if you had a dedicated dogging chatroom and you start talking about something which isn't dogging related - should you be booted? Because if it isn't dogging related, you could discuss it in the main chatroom, couldn't you?

To be honest, I am surprised that this has made it to two pages. From what I can see, you have individuals that are not in any position of responsibility on the site saying they are in favour, and then you have those that are, saying they are not.
Setting up another room isnt difficult and modding it isnt either.
With regards to what can be spoken about, I grant you that it may not be much different from the swingers room, but that doesnt mean that doggers that are online, cant pm each other with discussions about locations and such,(live) and that negates the need for waiting for a response via the web-based pm. Plus, chatting live is far more stimulating than email's or pm's via the site. imo
If its too much hassle, then there is already a room available and we all have the facility to use that. I just thought that rather than not knowing who was into what, having your own room for your own little part of the community would help the communication process to be made more accessable and speed things up for people that are looking for things quicker.

I personally would not use a dogging chat room. I do use the 'normal' chat room and enjoy the varied banter in there and if I did want to talk to someone about dogging, then I would go into a private chat with them.
If we had a dogging chat room, what could we talk about in there that we don’t in the existing chat room or in here? I can just imagine it being like a lot of car parks are at the moment, all the blokes stood together chatting “you should have been here last night, five couples mate, you missed it†Suddenly a couple comes along and they are pounced on, surrounded by the blokes, no-one waiting for a signal to come on over, but more of a “lets get in first†attitude! Sorry, not my scene!

A lot of people, again generalising, don’t do pre-arranged meets, they like doing the 'old fashioned' style of dogging. A lot of people like the idea of going out on the spare of the moment, so what good what a chat room do for these people?

as someone who, on occassion, watches the chat in such a room, albeit not the swingingheaven one, i have to say, although there are several sub-rooms catering for things such as fetish, bi-ladys etc..none of them seem to get used, ever, yet the main room is always thriving..

Only joking, Mr Elad about the knees, but why not try the normal chat room, it can be very busy but there are a lot of the doggers off here that do use it.
