On Saturday night I went to the woods circuit mentioned in the Nottm guide on this site, and there were almost traffic jams in all 3 locations, plus one that isn't mentioned in the guide. No action happening that I could see, but loads of cars with single blokes hanging about expectantly and the very occasional couple. Something must happen on a regular basis up there or it wouldn't be so popular. Hell, the one guy I did speak to - a Pete Postelthwaite look-alike - remarked that it was "quiet for a Saturday night".
I got fed up with hanging about smoking fags and drinking coke at 10 and buggered off home for beer, but I'd be interested to know from anyone there if anything did go off, or did the OB cruising around put people off?
The site mentioned in the guide at the NWC appeared, when I last looked many months back, to be off-limits, the car park barred with chain and padlock. I've not tried the place down by the water and the ducks yet.

Thought i must ad my bit at this thread!
Ive been going up to the places youve mentioned now for the past three years and in all that time i must say that of late things have quitened down, but if your calm and respectful to the couples who do want to be up there for a fun time and have the balls to go up to these couples and have a friendly chat rather than just sitting in your cars stalking and waiting to pounce on them expecting a show with no words passed between everyone then you will 9 times out of ten find things happen !
Well it does for me anyway, and no im getting at the single guys out there who do just sit in there cars, its just what the couples have told me they would prefer it if people went up to them and spoke.
When im up there with my wife we welcome guys to come and have a friendly chat.

Thanks for the tip, Andy. I'm a dogging virgin and Saturday was my first trip to a dogging location, having read timandsuenotts (I think that's their handle) post on the Saturday about a couple of bi-fems planning to have some fun. When I arrived at the first P it was just myself and one other car, with the light on and a woman with long white boots and heels sitting listening to music with the door open. I honestly wasn't sure if she was there to walk the dog or just chill out, so left her alone, on the grounds that women don't often like being approached on their own in the dark by strange blokes. I did a bit more prowling at the other locations, including the TH car park not mentioned in the guide, and occasionally saw and heard groups of guys talking, and at one point there was actually a real live woman, but the only couple I saw were in a camper van. The bi-fems and their men (4 in all) did turn up at the TH location and were drinking and chatting, but I wasn't sure if it was them and even if they were there seeing a man about a dog I didn't know the right, erm, etiquette/protocol in these situations. I think it was them as when they drove off I recognised the car, so I pootled back off to the first location in time to see a cop car cruising it, not that that seemed to bother everyone there. (Do cops give doggers grief around these parts?)
I did get the feeling that any serious action wouldn't take place until after all the 'cruisers' had buggered off, but didn't want to hang around until midnight or later. On the plus side, I did get a nice walk in the woods - BW are very nice when it's dark, really quiet and peaceful
Perhaps I'll give it another go sometime, although it does seem like an awful lot of waiting around and smoking fags for the chance of a peep at some action. An acquired taste, I dare say...
