Dogging Section - questions for admin

Dear Admins
Is this section being moderated any more?
We've got duplicate posts, spamming and locations being posted too precisely and nothing is being done with that, other than the regs pointing it out to posters who may or may not change it. It's extremely unlike the mods we have (had?) to miss this stuff......are they busy, are they even here any longer or this section just being ignored now? It would be good to know because there's little point in the long term members trying to keep this as an interesting forum if you're not bothering with it.

hi serendipity might be an idea to post a copy of this in the glitch thread as the couple of bits ive put in there st3v3 had picked up straight away & sorted smile

something has to be done or its going to put a lot of people in danger & seriously harm peoples fun confused

mods do seem to be in the cafe lots of locked threads there think they might be a little short staffed which is a little worrying :?

It would be MORE helpful to actually PM a Mod about these things with the link rather than just having a general comment. Remember, we don't know every single actual location in the country and don't even know when someone is naming a specific location.

I hope that doesn't sound flippant ! Its meant as a serious proposition. Serendipity obviously cares about the dogging side of SH and seems to have the respect of the genuine doggers onboard. IF S was interested in becoming a mod and IF the site admins have the forsight to put the lunatics in charge of the asylum then I believe this would not only take some of the pressure off the exsisting mods as the membership grows but would also make the dogging section a much better place for the genuine and responsible dogging community.
Hope the original post didnt put anyone in an embarrasing situation

Its actually not a bad idea Lucy and Dave but I am sure she will give us all a good telling off for nominating her for this!!! wink

The site always had quite a few Mods who went dogging and as Jags said it would be impossible for them to know all the dogging sites over the country (if they knew all that they wouldnt be Mods, they would be Gods).
Some sites have specific Mods who look after certain parts of the site and that way, they get to know the 'area' or topic they are Moderating for. The issue at the moment though is not lack of knowledge, it is that our existing Mods are up to their eyes in looking after newbies, clearing up after the plonkers who are posting phone numbers, full frontal avatars etc etc etc and we seem to forget that they sometimes want a personal life as well (how uncaring can you get).
The Mods do a brill job, but with all the newbies it does seem they are a bit overstretched and cant be everywhere. So I also vote Serendipity for Mod status lol

I'm wading in here when I can but with the extra work load the new changes have in the ads section and that fact we have to look at every picture posted, its not easy to keep up rolleyes

And looking at some of the ads and the pics, I bet it was enough to put you off your christmas dinner wink

I think that sometimes we just expect the Mods to be there when we need them (I know I have done in the past) but you do have personal lives as well, and with the membership of this place jumping up so much, I really dont think that if you were all on 24 hours a day, that every single little slip up could be noticed as quick as some of us would like them to be. So it wasnt a dig Dawn and the others, it was just an observation, and to be honest, I wouldnt swap places with you lot at the moment for all the gold in the world!
But still think we should nominate Dippity :wink:

True Jags and in the past I've done exactly that but I don't come here to spend my time constantly doing that, that's the job of the mods or admin! wink

I'm not criticising the mods on this so don't think it's a dig at any of you, most of us appreciate what you have to put up with - especially now, that's why I addressed the question to the admin and not you guys. If this kind of thing happens in the Cafe or the ads, it's dealt with fast but it feels like the dogging section is not really a part of SH as a whole any more, Dogging was missing from the photo ads til recently and still isn't listed as a checkbox in the profile area - which is why I can't help but wonder if the new SH really has any interest in it.
Let me reiterate, this is not a dig at the mods, I've done what you do and I know how hard it is - and I've said before that I think more mods are needed, there's no way such a big influx of site members can still be handled by the same group of people without reinforcements!
WRT the other suggestion, thanks for your support gang, that's very flattering but having been a mod on two forums in the past, I'm not doing that again on a big forum like this! It was hard work and tons of grief lol

However I do think a mod whose only responbility is for the Dogging section is a good idea, it would allow the more experienced SH ones to focus on where the most need for their attention is. Ideally one who is or has been a dogger or part of a dogging couples :idea:
May I suggest Mrs NWC? she has far more patience than I do and she has BOOTS! :wink:

I understand that you're not having a dig at Mods kiss

however, as Dawn has said the changes means that we are to authorise EVERY SINGLE photo on the site. When I logged in today I found 386 waiting from overnight and have since done about another 200.
Mods work over the whole site. So, a dogging forum Moderator only is a non-starter. But, I know that we appreciate the suggestion - it's so much better than just complaining!!
Please send me the links to any dodgy dogging links and/or cock shot avatars.
