Erase the list of Dogging sites?

Just wondering, bearing in mind the trouble with sites getting overrun with plonkers, whether it might be time to get rid of the list of sites. I know that similar lists are available on other websites, but as this is probably the best-known site (even my in-laws mentioned it!) it might be a good start. What are other people's views on this(esp the mods?)
I don't think there's a problem with the list being on the site, it's impossible to know from that whether any of them are active, it also avoid people joining up just to ask for dogging sites - ok it doesn't, but it's a good place to point people to without having to give them the whole "you're new, we won't share info with you til we know you're really a dogger" speech! The need not to name active sites in the forum is the most important issue.
BTW, what was the topic of conversation with your in laws? lol
Good point - I suppose it helps to limit the "access to all idiots" sites to a minimum - unfortunately one of these sites it our closest, and it would be nice for it to get back to how it used to be.
My father-in-law brought up the topic, out of the blue, over dinner, helpfully adding that there were some sites nearby. Suzie & I nearly choked simultaneously on the roast beef, before he was told off by a disgusted mother-in-law & the subject was changed, to our great relief.

I am mad
I brought this up before and it wasn't a popular idea then either. i really don't understand the logic behind keeping it here. I say delete it.
This is a REALLY sensible idea. PLEASE take it up mods/administrators.
have to agree its disruptive round our neck of the woods, mind you if the places listed arent the only ones folks go dogging at i wish someone would tell us where the rest are , be great to get away from the bracers and the same ijuts that chase us.
pm please ,
Can we put it to a vote?
jeeez, i cannot believe i've been on this site so long, and until 5 minutes ago, i had never accessed the dogging sites , so i've seen similar on other websites, but looking through our county rundown, it does read like a piece of fiction..probably 20 percent of the places mentioned are active sites, some are obviously wishfull thinking on the part of the informer and the best god damn site in the county ain't on the list anyway lol
as for wether the list should be removed altogether, i have no opinion.

I am! biggrin :D
Actually I live not far from Amersham!
Tyhe sites were there before the list and will be there ( or elsewhere) when its gone. No more rules , just fun :-)
Peace

It isn't the site lists that are the problem, it's the all-round publicity.
The sites are pretty obvious anyway...any carpark, layby or country park, with a smattering of nature reserves and a few woods....you don't have to be a genius to find one...anywhere people go to shag outdoors....erasing all the inet lists won't do anything at all.
It's like everything else...as soon as it gets popular there are people who want to stop it...it's the "English" way.
Oh, and I may also mention that telling all your mates is a sure way of filling a carpark up..
i dont think the list should be removed however i do think that it should be password protected and can only be accessed after a certain amount of posts on the forum, that way we get to know who are genuine and get to know the people a little better, also it means newbies would have to spend longer on here which means they are more likely to pick up more tips and make a better and more respectful dogger imho wink
Most of the sites are listed on other websites anyway, so there's not a lot of point in deleting them.
I think we should delete the sites list I agree that other sites mention them but at least it is a start you never know they might follow suit with SH being the number 1 site and then getting back to normal and getting rid of the boy racers and the tossers.
"you're new, we won't share info with you til we know you're really a dogger"

I have had this already.
I know its a very secular group, and I really appreciate the reasons for not giving out all the information, but as with anything when you are new, there is absolutely no trust. This is brought about by the idiots that spoil it for the rest of us (albeit new) people that are looking to get involved.
From a manchester point of view, there only seem to be a few areas that are active, and those are either crawling with gay blokes cruising, or police/kids smoking weed.
Im not sure exactly what I am going to do to get round this other than get involved with conversations on here. I'm a bit stumped really.
yeh most of the sites are avail on other websights anyway , dont think deleting them will keep away the boy racers and the cascade of single men !

Have to agree, most people would know where it goes on locally to them anyway, i may well be a bit to late for removing it anyway now,
The names sites could also be used as a red herring! I know a site in Bucks, which is quiet and not listed on here. I would only give it out via PM when making arrangements. The chancers will go by the listed sites but if meets are made via this forum then other arrangements can always dictate.

It's not the fact that sites are listed on other websites.
If you open google and type in "dogging" and a county or area. It will normally come up with the SH website. It seems likely that people who are searching the web in this manner will be newbies. There is nothing wrong with being a newbie and i'mm not slagging of newbies but if you are new and SH is your first exposure to dogging then you're more likely to make all the mistakes that many people make when new, like using full beam to look in to peoples cars and driving up close to other couples, bombarding people with PMs etc.
I'd prefer it if new visitors to the site had heard about it from people at their local dogging site or from swingers parties/clubs. These people are more likely to already know some of the rules and are more likely to post for longer and be more involved.
I think that removing the dogging lists will help remove the number of "drop-in" visitors and help lower the turnover of new members thus making it a better place for those who have a longer term interest.
But by removing the list, it also means more pm's for the regulars asking can we give them details of sites, more posts on here with new members asking which sites to visit! At least we can point people to the list!
As the majority of the places on the list are not as active as they used to be, we are not really ruining anything by leaving it in place. Sorry but cant see any harm in leaving it where it is!
Read through your replies and as far as i can see the list may as well stay as the boy racers are already there now.
They probably would be anyway with or without the list as they would only see the location suitable for whatever they like to get up to the same as whoever saw the location fit for dogging in the first place.
