I have much more fun on multimap....nip into aerial photo and have a look...better than google

I first tried Google Earth a few months ago and looked at dogging site in Buckinghamshire that had a problem with a lorry driver who parked his lorry at the entrance to the site. And sure enough the aerial view showed a lorry parked there!

Yep.. i've used GE and its fantastic... camera swoop through the grand canyon.. wow
but yea..... if people want .. i could put together an overlay of potiential sites

the thing with GE is that the pics may be upto 3 years old and as someone mention, multimap and get a map are much better at giving a view of the lye of the land. Still it is a very interesting choice for such an addictive software package.

we had arranged to meet someone and they didnt have the foggist where we meant, told him to look on GE and hes found it, great!!!!

its a website which shows you a birds eye view and you can zoom in on locations, it depends on what graphics card you have in your pc to how clear it is

Multimap photos are at least 10 years out of date.
I downloaded Google Earth onto my PC yesterday and zoomed into my front garden with the little lawn and bushy plants and all...which was interesting, as I had it block paved 3 years ago...so those photos are not so up to date either.
Still, an interesting toy. And if only the photos were up to date, then at least we would be able to see if any of the sites listed on web sites have gates or barriers preventing entry fitted since the late 1990's whern most of the dogging site reviews were first written lol

1990 ?
"it" has been going-on since 1965 that *I* know about.....
And most of the "1990" reviews were written in the days of old-style bbs's and newsgroups...when windows 3.1 was all the rage (!)

well i have lived at my present location for about 6 years and 3 years ago we built a new shed which takes up most of the yard and it shows that, may be they update some of the photos and not others, it would be great wouldnt it if they did show when they put barriers up cos another location near hudersfield has had a gate put on

Lets see, they have to update the whole globes pictures so you can see which carpark has gates on ?
It says on the site that the pictures could be up to 3 years old, and that different definitions are overlaid etc...
