I'm really sorry to hear about this dickhead...
If anything happens like that in future, drive straight into the nearest Police station. You'll find he'll soon fuck off! If you don't have a Police station nearby, drive somewhere very public - a restaurant, shopping centre...
Hxx
Why not note down the registration & ring the company asking to speak with the driver, I would think that just knowing you called would be enough to put the waster off!
Some people just dont deserve to meet nice ppl
In addition to the above ideas (both good ones), if you're unfortunate enough to see this idiot again, take a photo of him and his van. That in iteself may be enough to deter him, but if not when you come to report him to either the police or his company, you've got the perfect way to identify him.
For what it might be worth, this is exceptionally unusual behaviour...
All good advice - I'd do them all....
Make it obvious you have taken a pic of his van - and him. If he persists drive to the local cop shop. That should be enough to deter him. Ring the company, ask to speak to the driver - say it's urgent matter. Once you speak to him, tell him calmly that you know who he is, where he works (he'll know that already), and that you will pass his details on to the police. This is harrassment and this is a crime - he'll soon get the message that you're taking no shit.
That is just plain scary evil
It does seem the way now that if you are going dogging that you need to carry a camera with you to deter people & not to record the fun for yourselves mad
we've been followed a few times as well. unfortunately those kind of places can attract the lunatic fringe.
all sounds like good advice. the last time we were followed i pulled over, and walked towards his car when he pulled over. I was only going to tell him to clear off, but he shot off before i got within a 5 metres of his car...those kind of people are sad pieces of work.
We have in the past posted what we did when this happened to us.
We let the guy follow us as if we were not aware that he was.
We let him follow us for about 30 miles, we pulled up out side a house that wasn't our's and when he passed we drove off fast in the other direction.
We would have loved to have seen his face when he turned round and came back only to find that we were no longer there.
He may think twice in the future before making an idiot of himself and also making a wasted 30 mile journey.
How sad!!! Why cant this guy just be happy with the show.
Im sorry to hear about pathetic fools, such as the white van man...
Now dont shout me down or abuse me for being such, but I have the unfortunate job of working as a criminal defence lawyer in the Chester and Wrexham areas, having worked for a firm in Stoke on Trent, Staffs.
All the advice to date is good advice, however, having had to deal with sad people on a daily basis, I would say that, if you are thinking of report the matter, you should arm yourself with a list of seperate intances of him following you, detailing the date, time, registration number of the van and a brief paragraph of exactly what he did. 6 or more instances of the harrasment are usually enough to convince the police to act, which can be hard enough in any event!
Hope this is of some use, but if you want any more advice, please fell free to pm me.

I am pretty he wont bother with complaing about you. I should think the police will be more intrested in why this weirdo is following people around. Any way how could he prove what you were doing anyhow?
Big G and I have had a few similar situations much like yours. Once being (and I am sure G will correct me if I am wrong) at Windsor Park. We didn't panic though, and we had we had a small parade of cars behind us.
You know the old cliché 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade'? Well, that's what we did. We had a tank full of petrol so we decided to go for a small tour and have a giggle or two.
We hit the roundabouts a few times, driving rather slowly so no one would lose us. We turned down streets and then turned back. We watched the cars disappear one by one and then we went for the M25. Sadly, the last car gave up and we headed home.
Now, Im not saying that is the way to deal with the situation, and to be honest, if it did freak you out, then by all means, follow the sound advice from those previous, but people soon give up once they know you are prepared to take the piss.

I agree, head straight for a police station. That will surely shake him off, mind you it could've been a woman to,.....it happened to me. After an evening out dogging in MK I was followed by a woman, after 30 minutes I eventually lost her, bobbing and weaving around MK. Needless to say when I opened the front door as I got home she was waiting for me...haha
you have been educated
life is like a pubic hair on a toilet seat ....sooner or later you get pissed off
