Well, what a night!
Started off at our normal time, got to the island where we turn off for the motorway.................road closed!
Ok, fine, we'll take another route we thought...............only to then get stuck behind some arsehole Slovakian trucker who didn't have a clue where he was going or what his indicators were for. I had visions of them pulling our mangled bodies out from under his truck and wondering why I had no knickers on!
Finally got to the site, half an hour late. Several cars there, guys standing around chatting. We parked in our normal spot, Pete poured me a coffee from our flask...........and a police car pulled in!
He sat with his lights on full beam shining into our car, then one of the coppers got out and walked up to my window. I was quite embarrassed to have to tell him the window didn't work and to go round to Pete's side. Following conversation went some thing like this....
Copper.....Good evening. Can I ask what you're doing here?'
Pete..........It's a lovely night, out for a drive, drinking coffee
I wave coffee mug at copper
Copper......Just the two of you in the car.....................shining torch onto back seat as he says it
Pete...........Yes.
Copper......Ok sir, take care
Off he goes, makes a note of our number plate, then wanders over to the group of guys. Apparently he then asked them,' So when does the main show start'
Then they went. No hassling, no attitude....................and they didn't come back either!
Normal service was then resumed................and can i say a big thanks to the guys who braved the cold. It was BLOODY FREEZING, and some of them were standing around for ages.
Did have a brief visit from 3 chav-mobiles, but obviously the number of cars there scared them off, as they drove away again very quickly.
Also had the great pleasure to see the couple we had met there once before turn up again................and made sure we swapped mobile numbers this time. I'm pretty sure that the next time we are there they will turn up too................so two ladies to keep you guys busy!
Blimey.................this is almost an essay, better finish here or I'll be going all night

central heating decides to pack in.
I waited all night for a plumber who did not turn up
So not only is my plumbing pipes fucked my own pipes are bursting at the seems
I may have to visit the club in Birmingham tonight and empty santas sack
