I'm working up here until Christmas. I've never seen so many likely looking lay-bys before. Fantastic spaces right next to the water! So, is there a local scene up here or do these outstanding spaces just go to waste at night? If any locals could PM any information it would be most appreciated. Cheers!
Had another spin down past Loch Lomond last week on the way to a Glasgow weekender and checked the sites out again. In a busier part of the country, every one of those laybys would be prime dogging candidates, although no doubt that the boy racers wouldn't be far behind.
As far as the blight of racers goes, I'm pretty sure that as the lads get older and their mates pull real girlfriends, a good percentage of them will end up in their own motors, on their own, at the very sites they terrorised in the not too distant past! Nobs!!
As it now so public, I imagine not only will the boy racers be turning up, the local Plod along with ID10T 'headlight n main beam', dont have a clue doggers will be joining you to.
I have been to the locations you mention in the past and had some jolly good fun while camping but guess that over the next few weeks the Corsa's, Focus ST's and the Cleo's will be out in force to join you and screw up any chance you had at fun..
I now have a good idea why these places don't kick in over the summer. Midge Central!!!!
Having stayed in the motor to avoid the dusk pests, I moved South to a long layby near a posh hotel on the West shore. Wow! No midges AND a show 'n play!! Thanks to the visitors from Stafford for putting the picnic bench to such good use! Have a great holiday up North!
Heading over to the Loch tonight (Frii 11th) before the weather breaks!! Any other enthusiasts fancy meeting up? PM me if you are at a loose end this evening.
