I recently read a post where a nightvision camera or binoculors were used, although I'm no expert I would assume these are highly illegal if trained on somebody without their prior knowledge / consent and as such would risk police action.
I can appreciate the frustration of not getting any action for nights on end, but its one thing when people are happy to show, quite another when spying on an unwitting courting couple + once they spot the laser light you could be in big trouble!
Thats just my opinion though, whats the consensus?
Maybe you think they're fair game or perhaps you've used or been the victim of nightvision.

Jon and I were out with a guy one night and unwittingly became the victim of a jerk wearing night vision goggles 
Not sure why he bothered to be honest since all three of us were in a clearing of a wooded area and the moon was quite bright at the time. Certainly the other guys watching didn't seem to have any problems watching us
He only became apparent when someone in the group watching happened to notice the red light from the lazer
However, Jon and the guy we were with chased him off and made sure his goggles didn't work again
No probs with shy guys who hide in the trees, but night vision is taking it a little too far IMO :moon:

For some people, dogging was and still is spying on unwitting couples though ....if you like to have sex in a public place, surely the risk of being seen/watched is what most people do it for? (except the teenagers who live with parents I guess). I don't know the law on this but is consent needed if you are performing sexual acts in a public place?
Using nightvision does seem like bad manners but from what I hear they're not that effective anway, you'd be better off hiding behind a tree....and you won't look like one of the Borg!

We have a night vision scope which to be honest we mainly use to see if there are other couples in a car park when it is quite dark. We don't think it is much good for anything else, really (kinda like watching black and white tv but in green and white). It seems fair game if anyone (including us) is playing in a public space there is the chance of others watching (isn't this the whole point?). The red light on a night vision scope is not in fact a laser at all it is an infra red emitter which can be used in conditions of total darkness to bathe the "subject" in infra red light and thus provide a viewable image. Night vision scopes merely enhance the available light to provide a viewable image, clearly no light=no image, hence the need in some circumstances for the infra red emitter. Using the infra red emitter (they can be switched on and off) makes absolutely no difference to image quality in normal lighting conditions (e.g. moonlight) and thus it is difficult to see why anyone would choose to do so. Using night vision scopes is considerably less obtrusive when the infra red emitter is turned off.
i dont think its illigal for somone to use a pair of night vision goggles to spy on a dogging session in a public park / wood / whatever (or any sex session in public)
If you dont want to be watched, you dont do it in public. If you were at home, and he was using night vision to spy through your bedroom window, then yes, that is highly illigal and a breach of somones right to privacy, and in my view tottally unacceptable. But if your out in public, and someone is watching (with or without) nightvision, then there is no offence.
My personal view is that if you are prepared to have sex in public, you have to be prepared that some people are going to see you, whether you see them is a different matter, but thats the risk you take.

Dogging is for the people seeking the thrill of being watched or watching people having using visual aids what ever the product then you become aTHAT sick pervert we are pissed off at being whilst we like the thrill of dogging ,the sites we use are also used by innocent cpls WHO NOT NOT wished to be watched so respect their privacy also .Real doggers do not have the need for night vision aides nor do we invite there introduction.

Pro's:

You proberbly look like a right sad pratt, some one may take offence over there use and they ain't cheap to replace also the Cops might do more than take your details, more like a trip down town to the nick. Explain that to your nearest and dearist.

I completely understand your meaning with this, but if someone doesn't want to be watched (by someone openly dogging or a covert lurker) having sex in a public place isn't the best idea. Of course any decent dogger would go away if asked to but it doesn't guarantee they're not being watched!

I am not sure on the legalities of night vision but you have to remember, Having sex in public is also not 100% legal.
I myself am against the use of them!

Shagging on a picnic bench is hardly legal, especially since the VAST majority of those oing IT never remove their "rubbish" afterwards....speaking as one who cleans-up one site on a Sunday morning.
As for the violence...well, people like that are hardly worth going out with anyway....seen a few the past weeks "hey, are just going to watch ?...no you're not, do something or I'll fill your face with my fist"
Oh, and the ones who "nahh..never use rubbers mate"...I was at an event last night (been a good week...many "events" this week) where ALL the guys taking part (6) shot their load into the girl without wearing anything except skin.....now, those guys AND the girl are a serious risk to the population....
So, lets recap: Guys with night vision get a smacking, guys with tunnel vision are good-ole-boys ?
And, better not use any nature reserves for the game....they're FULL of binoculars and cameras....goin' to give the twitchers and nature lovers a smacking ?
