Safety Issues

Hi folks,
Don't want to sound like the health and safety police but... with Christmas coming up and the massive budget cuts / recession were all in crime has already started to increase up here in sunny Lancashire and no doubt it's the same in most areas.
The run up to Christmas usually sees an increase in violent types of robberies - cash vans targetted etc and it looks like staying true to form this year.
There was an incident recently where the driver of a car was tricked into stopping at the side of the road for what looked like a baby in a pram (was actually a doll) where the offenders were just waiting for some one to stop and steal their car.
Just food for thought as we're always slightly vulnerable with our vehicles when dogging.

Round here they have started a new one. An egg is thrown at your windscreen, this will not clean off with the wash wipe, so you stop and get out the car to clean it. They either mug you, steal your car or both. Have been several incidents reported in Warwick/leamington area.

just curious as to whether these are first hand accounts or the usual i heard from a reliable source type scare mongering stories, of course its good to be on the safe side and real info is greatly appreciated

Mine is a second hand account, from the victim, who was at a well known local spot in the countryside where men sometimes meet and go for a walk in the woods.
