i'm not meaning to criticise or mock, but i've just read through that "Toothing" site.
Is there a special code on there, or is everybody very childlike?
words such as "bumming" and "thingy" and "OMG!!" make me believe that this site is perhaps visited by school kids! lol.
I'm sorry if i'm completly wrong, i don't mean to judge, or like i say criticise or mock, and i'm sorry if i've offended anybody.
I can't make my mind up about it. Someone sent it round on Friday and I thought they were joking.
You're right, though, it does seem a bit 'young', and some of the language is difficult to understand. But it's meeting through mobile phones and stuff, isn't it? They tend to use different codes and spelling (or lack of) all the time.
I'm not that technology-literate when it comes to stuff like this, so wouldn't know if it is even possible.
Yeah, i had read about "toothing" before, i think there are people that do at least try and get involved in this. It makes no difference to me as i just have a shitty old nokia that doesn't have bluetooth technology on it anyway.
I'm guessing there would be codes and stuff for that sort of thing, but seriously "Bumming"?? i used to say that when i was 13 lol. and the word "thingy" in that context just made me laugh.
Also the stories some of the guys had posted in there seemed a little too erm..far fetched.
I mean don't get me wrong, i'm not saying at all that these people don't meet strangers for sex via their mobiles, but i read one of them that sounded a bit too much. I could imagine reading something like that (with better english lol) in a porno mag with some story-pictures (not that i ever ever read porno magazines, pervert, me? nooo lol)
And i just had images of some 16 year old sat in his bedroom with all his GCSE revision books closed, getting off and typing all that in.
Again, i'm not saying this sort of thing doesn't happen (hell, it was a pleasent suprise when i found out about dogging about 2 years ago! lol), and i'm not saying that the stories on that site arn't legit. All i'm saying is that to me, they sound a bit childish.
I don't know whether the tooth site is for real or not, even some of the posters on the site seem to think it's a wind up too!
As far as I know sex on public transport is quite popular with some people, but I never knew it was called toothing  - come on, someone must know why it's called that?
I think the world is about to go Toothing crazy:
Still, it's good to think we were there at the start, eh? Who fancies trying it? (Hell, I've not even tried dogging yet - so there's no hope for shy little me).
it's a lovely idea but for one small thing.......
For one Bluetooth device to connect to another both sides have to agree on a four digit code - this idea to stop "phreaking" (getting unauthorised access or use) of another bluetooth device.
I find your device with mine and choose to drop a message or picture and you'll get prompted for the code. You enter it and I then get the same prompt and have to match it.
Now, other than that, it would make journeys to work on the metro a LOT more fun !!

Big G and I chatted bout this the other night. While sex in a public place is nothing short of normal these days, toothing just appears to be a new technical way to make a contact (if in fact ANYONE has ever figured out how to use blue tooth on their phone) Big G's just keeps picking up his lap top! rofl!
We think we have heard of toothing or something simular before, but mostly in the gay community. Of course, we could be wrong...(It has happened before) rofl
Silky xxx
I would give this a go but my phone is a bit different!!!
I have enabled the bluetooth so that anyone can connect to it but not sure how to get a business card to send out to people.
My phone is an e200 orange exclusive phone so the general nokia instructions dont really help.......... in the hope that anyone does know what i have to do id be very interested to find out!

Bluetooth phones at risk from 'snarfing'

A serious Bluetooth security vulnerability allows mobile phone users' contact books to be stolen. You've heard of bluejacking - now meet 'bluesnarfing'
A security flaw has been discovered in Bluetooth that lets an attacker download all contact details along with other information from a vulnerable phone, while leaving no trace of the attack.
Unlike bluejacking, which is where users can send a message to Bluetooth phones without authorisation, this latest discovery for the wireless-data standard allows data, such as telephone numbers and diary entries, stored in a vulnerable device to be stolen by the attacker. The new exploit is called bluesnarfing.
Bluesnarfing is said to affect a number of Sony Ericsson, Ericsson and Nokia handsets, but some models are at greater risk because they invite attack even when in 'invisible mode' -- in which the handset is not supposed to broadcast its identity and should refuse connections from other Bluetooth devices.
Adam Laurie, chief security officer at UK networking and security firm AL Digital, told ZDNet UK that the Nokia 6310, 6310i, 8910 and 8910i models were at greatest risk. "On some models of phone, you are only vulnerable to attack if you are on visible mode; however, there are other models of phones where you are vulnerable even in non-visible mode," he said.
Laurie said he discovered the problem when he was asked to test how safe Bluetooth devices actually were. "Before we deploy any new technology for clients or our own staff, one of my duties is to investigate that technology and ensure it is secure. Actually rolling your sleeves up and looking at it, not just taking the manufacturers' claims at face value. When I did that, I found that it is not secure," he said.
According to Laurie, he can initiate a bluesnarfing attack from his laptop after making a modification to its Bluetooth settings: "It is a standard Bluetooth-enabled laptop and the only special bit is the software I am using in the Bluetooth stack. I have a modified the Bluetooth stack and that enables me to perform this attack," he said.
Bluesnarfing has huge potential for abuse because it leave no trace and victims will be unaware that their details have been stolen: "If your phone is in your pocket, you will be completely unaware," he said.
Laurie said he has had trouble getting the major handset manufacturers to admit the problem exists: "I have had experts telling me that it can't possibly exist because they have been trying to do this and failing."
Although the problem may affect other Bluetooth devices, such as laptops, Laurie said they are more difficult to target because the systems are more complex: "Mobiles are liable to be more vulnerable simply because the resources for menus and configuration are limited. Manufacturers try and make Bluetooth simple to use on phones, so you don't have much granularity in setting options. On a lot of phones, Bluetooth is either on or off," he said.
Laurie said that for now, there is no fix available. He said that the only way to be completely safe is to switch off the Bluetooth functionality.
AL Digital has developed several proof-of-concept utilities, but has not released them into the wild, said Laurie. They include: Bluestumbler, to monitor and log all visible Bluetooth devices (name, MAC address, signal strength, capabilities), and identify the manufacturer from MAC address lookup; and Bluesnarf, which can copy data from a target device.
According to the AL Digital's bluestumbler Web site, vulnerable phones include: Ericsson T68; Sony Ericsson R520m, T68i, T610 and Z1010; and Nokia 6310, 6310i, 7650, 8910 and 8910i.
Nokia and Sony Ericsson were not immediately available for comment.

Toothing, the new advertising medium !
It's all the rage at the clubs as well, where the deejs' get many cards sent to them by young females.
Yep, yous missin' loads massah.
The sexual part comes in if/when/whether another party replies to your bluetooth invitation.
Send a general business card "young males wants a shag"
Maybe you'll get a reply, if you include your phone number ?
I'm reliably told that toothing in a crowded nightclub will solve your frusration.
Maybe.
Hi G here
Weve watched the thread and the board mentioned since the thread first started . Im a slave to a gadjet , and love having sex in weird places , so it sounded at the very least intriguing . Truth is even if it does happen im fairly sure that the actual site mentioned is the invention of a young geeky guy with spots who read about it somewhere . It shows absolutely no signs of actual activity , and anyone who frequents SH should be able to recognise the atmosphere of a group of people who are sexually active .
Just imagine the scenario , since most of the members seem to be middle aged men , and the only couple of posters on there who claim to be female speak with a vocabulary which would only suggest age nineteen at the very most . So there is a nineteen year old girl at a bar on a Saturday night , dressed up to the nines and suddenly she feels horny and wants to have sex with a stranger in a public toilet .................does she run home log on to the net , find details of someone who might be near a particular bar at that time , then get a cab back , spend an hour exchanging blue tooth business cards with the stranger , then get another taxi to the bar he says hes in and wait for him to show does she just cross and uncross her legs at the guy at the table opposite and order another malibu and coke ??
Answers on a postcard .
