It would seem the attacker was tooled up for the task at hand and was premeditated, my guess would be most definately dogging related.
I agree with your comment it is very you imagine sitting there with your lady about to put on a show and you are approached,you expect another dogger but the actuality is either mugging / robbery.

Warming the Bed
The problem with dogging is that you can put yourself in possible dangerous situations. Sat in a pitch black car park at night, you always run the risk of running into the wrong person.
