Im sorry if this topic has been covered before - but i would like the thoughts of the people concerning this subject - even i am gonna get hammered - LOL
I was at a listed site near to an international airport last week. I drive for a living and was waiting for a pick up at the airport.
I was the only car for a long time - so i drove away to get a coffee. On my return there were TWO cars parked next to each other.
Ive read some threads on this site - so i waited patiently in case! The brake lights of one car came on. To me this could have been a signal - or someone accidentally hitting the brake pedal. I turned on my interior light just in case. No thing happened. After about 10 minutes the interior light of the same car came on revealing a couple but no apparent "action". I again showed my interior light. I got out of my car and made myself visible - but didnt approach. Their interior light stayed on - so i started to slowly approach and as i got close they started the engine. This "alarmed" me a little and i went back to my car. The last thing i want is to get hit by a guy and his lady - lol
Anyway - the whole process happened again and once again as i approached they started the engine.
So - my question is: - what did i do wrong?
*is expecting to get hammered here*
Dunno mate. I don't think you did anything wrong. Sounds like they were just taking the piss, but who knows. For people who use the interior light signal (and not everyone does) this must have been a fairly obvious sign. We've used the light thing and guys are sometimes a bit slow to approach, though I guess it's understandable if they're not sure on what to do. But I can't see why they would start their engine on your approach unless they were taking the piss or had bottled it.
Not your fault, methinks confused
Nothing at all is the answer.
Sadly there are people who like to have a bit of fun at the doggers expense sad
Shit happens :(
gailen your actions were correct in my books who knows what they were doing, maybe that was their idea of fun, or like blue said the nerves got the better of them even couples have to start saying that we are a couple and if you have half a brain you realise how hard it is for the dogger to.
so to all the couples out there remember while you are worrying about is he a real dogger or plain clothed police or reporter remember the lone dogger is thinking exactly the same only he could get a punch in the nose for his troubles. confused
It could just have been a coincidence too Gailen, maybe their car had just got cold enough that they needed to switch the heaters back on.
I wouldn't take it personally, it doesn't sounds like you did anything wrong....maybe they read about dogging in the Supersoaraway and tried flashing their light to see if anything happened and couldn't believe it when it did! rolleyes
Better luck next time wink
I must have the worst car in the world for dogging. To start the engine the brake pedal must be depressed (or at least not very happy confused !), therefore the brake lights go on. When you open a door, although I can turn off the courtesy light, each door has a footwell light, which I can't turn off!! I light up at the most inopportune moments and can't do bugger all about it!
Mal
cool
Thanks for the comments people smile
Better luck next time i guess?
Although i agree with KISSING K that its hard for the single dogger - and there is the possibility of a smack in the mouth - LOL
Mal609 - That all sounds very familiar
Saab or Volvo by any chance ? smile
On the subject of signals - there was a couple in a very well known site in South Bucks, she dressed for the occasion who were shagging with the interior light on while surrounded by cars. A couple of the locals saw whatthey thought was a signal, got out and went over (yes I was close behind :) ).The male ha;f of the couple then got out and threatened to thump them for being "dirty peeping toms" .
Just goes to show................
No Mal - i think it was a VW Passat and a polo
to be honest i am a lady 5ft1in tall and must addmit, met one or two doggers that i would gladly smack in the mouth just for the filth that comes out when they have been told i dont like being spoken to like that, each to their own. mad
had to stop my husband a couple of times but hey maybe i am getting soft rolleyes
What on earth are they saying to you K?
i agree....you were doing the right thing....perhaps wouldnt have hurt to actually walk past the car tho.....every situation is different...and most dont put internal lights on now (which doesnt help)....i was near a car once...that i was convinced had a couple in...i got out my car and stood by it as did another guy...the other dogger came over to me to ascertain that there were def a couple in the car.....twenty mins went by...then the guy (couple) got out of his car...and asked us why we were waiting!!...why hadnt we come over??....amazing!
oooh,i like these threads......sounds like they could have been "dogger baiting",some guys get off on the fact they call the shots, kinda goes to their get the kick, they must see this power working,so stop, start, stop start,i see it all the time, sometimes interior, sometimes headlights...another scenario, female sort of wants to play, husband encouraging, giggles,"ready"?"yeah,go on then","is he comming over yet"?"oooh i dont know, lets come back later"...and so on,well, you get the picture!!as the others said,a million other variables!...........we wish guys would stop reacting to our auto transmission going through reverse when putting it in park though!!
aaah, you have seen us in the woods too then? ha ha!..yeah,similar scenario at our venue also mate....interesting to watch, but like you say,not much fun.......now i only used the (p) word once,so i'm getting better!
yeah like any other walk of life there are some real fuckwits ( maybe even moreso lol) . You do get wind up merchants , and also you'll find that if the couple concerned has been irritated by pushy types all night , they may give up and get some gentle piss take revenge .
Either way dont sweat it , best advise is to try and only use reasonably isolated sites that mean anyone there in the pitch black is almost 99% certainly there for the same reason as you . Were quite lucky , both our local sites are so far off the beaten track that if anyone was there after dark that wasnt there for dogging then they would be a police man or an axe murderer , we always find that comforting .
Thanks for another interesting question though .
Obviously you haven't met the axe murderer yet G.....
