I thought it might be useful for us to collate a glossary of oft-used forum terms, y'know, in the spirit of making all welcome.
Feel free to add to it... just for fun :giggle:
bluexxx's parties or 'one of blue's parties': these were and are the stuff of forum legend. (Before my time but I've heard them discussed in hushed tones :twisted: ) I believe they *may* have involved dressing up and all sorts of unspeakable naughtiness :rascal:
Mikes boxers......these were grey and baggy and I was suspended by blue holding them
Postie/Piste- Former postman, usually drunk, usually in some sort of strife
Happy Cat- Miserable, not really a cat, bastard- commonly referred to to as Miserable Cat Bastard or MCB
Flounce- Announcing in the forum that you intend to leave the forum/site for some reason, usually to gain some attention or sympathy. frequently responded to with 'bye' 'don't let the door smack you in the arse on the way out or 'see you tomorrow'......flouncers often skulk back in the following day.
Dammies law- If you start a thread asking a question such as 'whats your strangest fetish?', Dammies law is that you should start off the answers with your opening post
Dammie/Dambuster- Author of Dammies law, drinker of may pints, likes dancing drunkenly on a barrel at munches, likes to get thrown out of munches- usually for drunken dancing activities

Goldfish --- could be a small orangy-coloured water loving creature that some people keep as pets, or more likely, in this forum, currency that allows you to buy other forum members :grin:

Hijack - to deviate from the main topic of the thread. Mostly done with humorous intent. Occasionally it's done subconsciously. Then you know you're deep in forum gobshite territory. :giggle:
"Thread killer" or "Another thread killed"
Where you post what you think is witty or thoughtful or sometimes even sensible into a thread which has been bouncing along nicely and then all the replies stop !! And the thread then dies !!
