I haven't tried it yet. I want to, just so I can say I've tried it, but need to find someone to make me a proper Welsh brekkie first

A very lovely Welshman showed me how to make Laverbread - yummy. I'll do the laver bread if you do the brekkie?

Socials are now usually in clubs, which for me defeats the object entirely of socials. There is no such thing as munches anymore.
In short I'm happy to call myself a swinger, because I believe I always will be, it's a mindset, not an activity for me, but that seems to be what swinging has turned into recently.

This sum sums it up for me exatly:thumbup:
I am a member of an other site and one of the reason I have never been to one of their socials apart from the distance, money is because of this. I have never been to a club its not my thing. I liked it when socials were socials.

Absobloodylutely 100$ agree
I've been to some good club socials - even organised a couple on another site -- but they are nothing like the socials of old. Club socials have their place, for people who are comfortable with clubs. But I agree, the site-wide socials of old were amazing and nothing could top them.
My favourite part of those times were the pre-munch meet ups, the stupidity in hotels and the massive build up to each one :thrilled:

the old munch bubble  :dancingpinkelephant:
many of us were carried from one month into the next on the strength of those bubbles lol
Post-munch blues lasted as long as the hangover, then there'd be another one to look forward to and the build would start all over again  Good, but very expensive, times

Jay and I were only talking yesterday about how we managed to do the social and munches thing financially. To do the same thing now would be nie on impossible. Munches and Socials were a threee hundred pound weekend for us we reckon and to do that nowadays...well we just couldn't. ~Certainly not on the regular basis we once did. Just goes to show how, for us and others, times have become progressively tougher in that way. Should be blimming easier too one would of thought.

Oh yes, the lifestyle was hugely expensive for me too, at one time. I reckon between 2005 and 2006 I was spending £200 - £300 a month on average on "lifestyle" related activities.
The big munches were a big outlay, when you think about hotel costs, travelling, food, drink (especially drink :uhohsmile and clothes (if I cared to buy something new to fulfill whatever fancy dress it was :eeek: ).
But then there was all the smaller socials that I used to run in Manchester. In their heyday we were doing a small one once a month, sometimes more, each with a hotel cost, meal, drinks.....
And then there was all the clubs I did. Each one a small entry fee, but times each small entry fee by the sheer amount of clubs I was doing and it all tots up
I wouldn't even want to begin to try and add it all up
And I would reckon that some people would have spent a whole lot more than me. I refrained from the southern munches as I don't do the south, but I know lots of people who did them all. Hats off to ya!!!!
I gave up meeting as a single fem within months of joining the first time round because the first guy I met became my partner after falling for each other big time
When I think back now I spent most of my weekends either travelling miles at stupid o`clock for a meet or waiting in for someone who never showed, don`t get me wrong I had some great times along with the bad ones, but time and effort and yes cost isn`t something I would be rushing to get into again.

I loved the old socials held on here too, though I never to as many as some. Mainly because I live in Scotland not that many were there and traveling down south was too expensive. I loved lucys Scottish munches and did travel over the border on occasion. I also enjoyed the the pre-munch drinks and build up to each it was all part of the experience
