Send in the Marines

The Capture of Gibraltar - 24 July 1704
The famous attack upon Gibraltar, which led to its surrender to the British, on 24 July 1704 was carried out by a brigade of British and Dutch Marines, 1800 strong, under the command of Prince George of Hese-Darmstadt. In the following October, Gibraltar was besieged by the French and Spanish. The Marines from the British Fleet, held the fortress against repeated attacks until the siege was raised on 9 March 1705. In one incident in this fighting, Captain Fisher of the Marines with 17 of his men, successfully defended the Round Tower against the continued assaults of 500 French Grenadiers. A contemporary report of this noted defence says,
"Encouraged by the Prince of Hesse, the garrison did more than could humanly be expected, and the English Marines gained an immortal glory."
Simples !!!!!
Taking an openly aggressive stance will serve no useful purpose whatsoever.
Indeed, it could put Europe back by 60 years or more.
Europe is at peace. The only way to resolve this issue is by diplomacy and that does NOT mean giving in to Madrid.
I reckon that had this been any other Euro country involved, other than Britain, it would of not even got of the ground. Britain is generally not liked by most other Euro countries, just tolerated, in the main. The Spanish wont be losing face at all. The EU will not back Spain in this but they'll damn well wait until the last moments to uphold any laws they have to that favours any position Britain has. And Britain conversely will be seen yet again as a load of whinging bastards
I think we should hand back the Channel Islands whilst we are at it...
If we didn't have all these outlying regions to look after then we could make massive cost savings.
Yeah Rogue I agree along with Scotland Ireland Wales Cornwall and the North. Should make things easier

I would like the North not to be part of England.
England sucks.

start removing the spanish at the boarder control and place them under gun point!

I'm sure your joking when you wrote this, however just to confirm that we cannot remove Spanish border controllers from there side of the border by force. That would be an outright act of war.

It would be interesting if, on the day of the Scottish Independent Referendum, those of us in the North (Lancs, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland) were given a vote to either stay part of England or join with an Independent Scotland should that come about.
Don't know if the Scots would want us tho, so maybe we could become part of Holland, that's not far from us, or Denmark perhaps.
I'd propose Blue as the Diplomatic Ambassador to whichever State was lucky enough to get us tho.
