was this on the dvla website ... i ask because i inadvertently pressed 1 of the adverts at the beginning of the search and they was wanting to charge me a fee of £30 to use them as a checking service to make sure that the application was correct .... something the dvla dont offer
thats the right site but i would phone them to ask why they are charging double for online applications... the number for them is and should cost no more than an 01 or 02 number
Does your daughter have a passport? I have just gone through the same process with my daughter and there was an option to use the her passport photograph for the provisional licence. Total cost was £50 and her licence came through in a few days.
thats a scam site;
type it in your address bar!!
these sites were on the radio a few weeks ago, they were highlighted as scamming f***s
the site takes you to . automatically .... its the same page that flower said
and its the correct site
Apologies I was meant to have quoted Sara2010 when she was talking about the £30 fee for checking your application.
yes and as soon as i saw it i knew it was. but these scam sites are very cleaver in also not stating that their fee is separate from the official site. i am still interested in knowing what the dvla has to say regarding doubling their fee for online applications
They don't charge double for online applications, at least they didn't in my daughter's case. Maybe in Flower's case it's due to the initial application being incomplete and therefore has to be resubmitted?
If the person named in the application has a passport, the DVLA can obviously access some central database and use the photograph on the passport for the provisional licence. One is given this option during the online application process.
Just done this for my son and on the same site as Flower. The initial £50 covers the lot. You apply and pay on line and then you get a follow up mail through the post asking for proof of ID and send that back to DVLA but you pay nothing more for that. The whole process took about three weeks for my son.
i am wondering if there was a problem with the online banking side of things .... if you have online baking flower i suggest looking to see if the first £50 was taken out, that or go in the bank and ask for a mini statement
Likewise, my son did his provisional on-line recently, used the passport photo option, one fee of £50.
Not sure why the OP is having probs, must be a foulup somewhere if it was through the genuine site - guess you'll have to slug it out with them. Personally, I always write and print letters to orgs like these, with Sent by Recorded Delivery across the top, and of course send them recorded and keep the tracking info, make a note or print the date on which it was received .
Takes a bit more time, but it doesn't get left in someone's inbox, lost or filed in the bin
