I think that's very unfair and not called for.

In fairness I was a punk ...I remember glam rockers (dockers in make -up)..I remember new romantics...I remember acid house and ravers....put in perspective long t-shirts and baggy jeans aren't necessarily that stupid
They're not baggy: they are worn with the waist around the knees.
Which means you can safely call them wankers....
I was born in 1965 and could find no music of the time or style that suited me, so I found the 50s and dressed myself like this for which I got lots of stick, but despite that I loved being so different.
