Dare to challenge Liebour on their policies, especially immigration and you get branded a bigot. What this lady said was perfectly reasonable and is a view held my millions in this country. Are we all bigots too?
It just goes to show what utter contempt Brown has for the general public and anyone who has the temerity to share a contrary view to his own, especially when the cameras are there.
He claims to be a man of substance over style, who doesn't attack personalities, being an honest, hard-working, son of the manse who is just "getting on with the job" but today showed his true colours. This unelected and unelectable bully has no place representing the people of Great Britain.
Let's see Mandelslime spin his way out of this one.
Says it perfectly.
The madness where a PM calls someone a bigot for complaining about immigration.
The leftys use that arguement all the time to try and snuff out peoples genuine feelings on immigration, when in fact comments like that and especially when made by a serving PM, do nothing at all but fuel peoples anger even more.
I hope this is brought up by Cameron in the next tv debate, and then watch him squirm.
My problem is not with him calling the woman a bigot - he has every right to believe that - but with his back pedalling rather than sticking to his guns
Imagine if he had called her a racist because of her objection to "people from eastern european countrys cominng here" instead of (or as well as) a bigot?
To some people, anyone who questions the topic of Immigration Is a racist and he may well have said it if that lady was not a labour supporter.
I know there is a clear definition between the words but the interpretation gets a bit blurred depending on which side of the political pendulum you swing.
All i can say is,
Thanks for the extra BNP votes Gordon
Gordon has no one to blame but himself,he didnt give that straight talking northerner chance to full express herself, how dare he call her a bigot....damn Griffin and his lot are rubbing there hands in glee
Blatantly nicked from the Order Order website, thanks Guido:
In the first Prime Ministers’ debate, the candidates were asked to answer a question on immigration:
Audience Questioner: Good evening. What key elements for a fair, workable immigration policy need to be put in place to actually make it work effectively?
Gordon Brown : You know, I’ve heard the concerns around the country. I’ve been listening to people. I know people feel there are pressures because of immigration. That’s why we want to control and manage immigration.
How anyone can believe a word that passes Brown's lips is beyond me.
He stands accused of gross duplicity on this and many other matters which he is continually pedalling lies and spin in a desperate attempt to claim the moral high ground.
What surprises me is that anyone is surprised.
I've no doubt they all do similar. The difference is he got caught. So not only is he a two-faced liar (as we can safely assume the others are) - he is stupid as well.
That poor woman must have been mortified - hurt, insulted and embarrassed. THAT is unacceptable. I'm glad to hear she has chosen not to vote (although she has plenty of time to change her mind), even though he went and apologised - although I notice he decided to do that in private. Personally I'd have frog-marched him off my property.
where would this country with out migrants
I note very little is said of the social security classes who are not individuals but a generational thing
and Duffy An Irish name wonder where here family hark back to (hint the same as me and the land of the little people) blinded by the media that wants to pick on something easy rather than the the deep underlying issues that is really tearing this country apart
Gordon Brown yeah ass of the day award but not the worst of a bad bunch
Is life in Eire any better than in the UK? Is their economy likely to go the same way as that of Greece and other failing Euro member states and how long until countrys start baling out of the European Union when the burden of carrying their fellow member states gets to much to bear?
Imo,
The European Union will eventually fail. and i would like the UK to be out of it well before it does.
I would have preferred to have him explain his view.
The sadness is, that Gordon B actually handled the original situation quite well. I estimate that he is a very unsure person, even to the point of having a personality disorder, and he cannot help himself "let off steam" after he is under pressure by saying things (including about his staff) that he probably doesn't mean.
In my view he's a better "No 2" man than a "front of house" man and he should never have been prime minister in the first place - but that's all too late now.
Plim
I'm wondering.....if Gordan Brown is actually a member here..
I mean how many times.....have we chatted to someone...then attempted to whisper someone else..and say.." god what a tosser he is " only for the whisper to then appear in the room..for all to see.....arrghhh
