Absolutely, the facts may or may not be relevant, I personally do not think they are, that is what debate is for, some years ago the facts were that the earth was square, some years later the facts were that the earth was round, not so long ago it was a known fact that the earth was the centre of the universe, the fact NOW is that it is simply a part of many universes, what will the earth fact be in years to come.
We could debate the possibilities if we don't let the facts get in the way.

Science and knowledge has progressed since the days you are refering to. Today we live in an age where evidence based study holds more weight than those that shout loudest.

Depends on how quick I get here.
If its eight pages long i tend to latch on to the first thing that gets my soapbox twitching.
Erm, not a euphormism btw.

Yes your right, but back then science was the consideration that made them think what they did, therefore further advances in science could easily change what we think now or are you sure that there will be no more advances in science that would make us think differently ?

I am positive that the earth will not be square or flat.
Other issues are either fact or theory. The problem with disagreements, is that people cannot seperate the two as they have both been put forward by "science".
